Found a 40s Chronomat, and I was wondering if it has the original hands? From everything I have found, it doesn't seem like it doesn't? It seems the center hands were in fact blue, but thicker. And the right hand should be red?

Any thoughts? If they aren't original, does that detract from the value much?

Not the best photo, but hands look recent replacements. Not a huge issue as hands are frequently replaced and not always possible to find the right ones. It is a warning that there may have been other things replaced but can't comment on that without better pics of dial, movement and inside / outside of caseback.

Thanks fo the reply. I've asked for some more pictures, but I haven't gotten a reply yet. Must be easier to just wait for someone who doesn't ask as many questions.

Is this from Farfo.com? Pic looked familiar...

Like window shopping from them but prices seem a bit inflated. I think you can do better.

Yea this one was at Farfo. They are expensive and they never wrote me back when i asked for more information. I'm just trying to learn what makes a good old watch, what's fixable, and what people do to try to fake or hide imperfections.
