I am interesetd in purchasing a vintage Breitling and wanted to educate myself so have been browsing on here quite a bit. I find it a bit overwhelming the number of what you call "frankenstein" watched. Not neccessarily fake in the traditional chinese knock off sense of the word, but rong faces, dials, markers, etc...

I was wondering if there were any good tips for easily identifiying these vintage frankenstein watches? I have found it helpful to look at the hands, but was wondering what other tells there are that people gain with experience.

Every piece is different, so post pieces here, and look at original vs. refinished dials and you will see how the numbers, logos, etc aren't as refined.

Other tells are Geneve dials before Breitling moved to Geneva (1953) and mismatched logos (not 100%, but 99+%).
