Helle, I am new on this forum as I Just bought my first Breitling.

I would need your precious advices regarding this watch I bought to a Breitling collector. A top time ref. 810 with a valjoux 92 movement. The diameter must me 35 or 36mm.

The seller certifies that all is athenthic but that this model is quite rare.

Here is the picture:

I brought it to Breitling After Sales Services and they told me:

"We inform you that the dial, the back and the case are not corresponding to the original Top Time 810 model

Moreover this movement have never been used by Breitling.

Here is a picture of the original Top Time 810 model:

I nevertheless ask for more details:

" Is it a fake according to you?

Is it an authentic Breitling dial, an athenthis Breitling back and an authentic Breilting case? Would it be a watch made with assembled components coming from various Breitling watches?

Are you sure that the Valjoux 92 have never been used by Breitling?

It seems that the watch was produced in 1966, do you have the 1966 catalog in your archives?"

Answer from Breitling:

"Our expert for old models said that teh dial, the back and the movements are fake ones. Regrading the case, he cannot afirm at 100% that it is a fake one. In any case the case does not correspond to the original Top Time 810 model.

We confirm that the valjoux 92 movement have never been used by Breitling.

Unfortunately we don't have archives of old catalogs."

Do you think it is possible that Breitling doesn't know this model?

I found this one that looks like mine with a venus 178 movement. Mine would be a two counters version of this one.

I thank you very much for your very usefull help...

Best regards,

GN

Breitling is correct, watch is fake

TT 810 are ALL based on the Venus 178, three subdials.
sorry, but there is absolutely no doubt here. there were round 2-subdial TTs, model names would be 200x.

here is a decent model overview w/ movement info:

funnily the first authentic TT you link to seems not totally correct, as it combines the later lugs w/
the early dial that misses the two dots at "12".

some of my early 810s, later model w/ slightly different lugs/dial last:

you are most welcome. sorry to be the bearer/confirmer of bad news here, but
the seller is clearly wrong when he claims your watch was authentic, trying to
give him the benefit of the doubt here, though his claims of a "rare model"
sound quite fraudulent.

These watches are well documented and absolutely no component of the watch
he sold to you ever came near a Breitling factory - well, the crown might be authentic ?

note: pics seem to indicate I always wear the same shirt. No, I do not !
I change them daily, just like my watches, though most are blue striped,
just like most of my watches are Breitlings.
