Hi, I know this seller is quite well regarded and known here and that looks like a nice 806 but are these watch images scanned, i.e pictures taken by putting the watch under a scanner? I would think that scanning the watch would not expose many of the finer details of the watch correctly like exact lume colour, scratches on the dial, etc as opposed to taking natural pictures in proper lighting which would more correctly represent the watch? Would appreciate your opinion on that since I haven't seen too many sellers with those type of images.

Seller has always used this method to make scans
but they reveal at least as much detail as photographs ? and I am pretty sure they show the colours pretty good

Most of the time computer monitor settings have at least as much influence on the way colours are represented as the pictures

Thanks Rene, would be interesting to see how the watch actually looks in natural lighting, especially the lume and the dial, can't seem to find any resources on the net on the effectiveness of scanning watches v/s normal photography either so looks like a very rare practice.

Try it with one of your own watches and compare with a pic ?

Taking pics I am always annoyed by the white balance and reflections on the plexi , scanning them seems to avoid that for a large parts
but that might be a discussion for the general watch section of the forum

tempted to, maybe will try with a modern beater first since not sure if a close range scan has any ill effects on my vintage watch's lume:)
