Garbage.

Breitling on the caseback is totally off, no reference number, serial number completely inconsistent with Breitling.

Movement may be from a later Breitling, but I don't think that the dial is correct - never seen that kind of subdial marking on a real one although the logo is good.

Could it be just a replaced case back that makes it look faker than it is ?? Or is it that I want it o be real !!

That doesn't explain the inconsistency of age between dial and movement, and casebacks aren't really interchangeable.

Thanks guys for your comments. What do you think the watch is worth. I know that it not collectible but stil nice work. The seller said the following. ......

Well i was told that watch have been serviced at official Breitling repair center and was confirmed that it is genuine, movement made by Venus it is seen from balance plate, dial also have no sign that it is not genuine, I would look in another side of it if I have any suspision about that, case back also looks normal, if serial number looks of it could be that case back was changed from another watch through the years.

worthless to a collector, the caseback story is bull.
worth to you ? only your decision; if it were "just a nice no name watch" without faking attempts it would be worth around 150 to 250 Euro

Thanks for your input guys. Will leave the watch and continue search. How much would a nice Breitling Doctors watch cost from the 1940 just out of interest ??

have not seen a convincing one for some time, iirc there was a 178 from the UK some time ago w/ a refinished dial, went for around 700 Euro.

basically prices are similar to regular tachymeter dials, you will find quite a lot of Pulsometer Breitlings from the 60s and early 70s, early pieces are quite rare.

Regarding that watch you asked about, you might want to have the seller explain why he claims the serial number 70062 on his watch "dates it to 1947" ?
All documented Breitling serial numbers are 6 digit up to late 1964, 7 digit later, 1947 would be between 703562 and 717737

Thanks for the info Fred. I will have to keep an eye out for one then. I think the seller has no idea that it is fake but Is trying to maintain it value by suggesting any reason for the faults highlighted about. Let me know if you see any nice models anywhere.

no sense reporting this, as ebay will not remove it; some poor sod will be the proud owner of that fake ....

I reported it. Even if futile, at least my efforts will have vented my own disappointment in the seller's behavior.

Still there, and unfortunately several people bidding on this junk.
