Hi, just saw this nice looking 785 here http://www.chrono24.com/en/breitling/da ... 0&tab=pics
What's a bit different is "SWISS MADE" on the dial that haven't seen in conjunction with that style of hands and no serial number on the case back, anything else looking amiss besides movement shots missing?

Thanks Rene, can't seem to find any examples without the serial on the caseback though.

Why do you look for one without serial number on the back ?
If I am not mistaken they all have, at least the ones I have seen (good and bad), a serial on the back

Hi Rene, sorry didn't sound clear, I mean the ones I have seen have a serial number and a reference number at the back however the one in the link above has only a reference number 785 on the case back, no serial number like the other 785's. For example the caseback on all the 785s in this link have both the serial and reference number stamped on the back of the case

well spotted !

to be honest I didn't notice that ? ,
might be the seller obscuring the serial number , best way to find out is e-mail him and ask him about it

Since it's 18k the serial number is probably inside the back cover.

Thanks guys, got some pics, is this v72 movement correct for that 785 for 1946, I thought it shouldn't have had Breitling inscribed on the bridge and should have the "metal: inscribed ring on the movement circumfurence?

About the engraving, there either shouldn't be a engraving or if there is, the movement bridge marking style of the "Breitling" inscription should have been running calligraphic style letters for 1946 like this viewtopic.php?f=11&t=36832&start=15, correct?

True, I asked him where the serial is, he's yet to get back to me though he told me is a 644X.

That bridge engraving (and perhaps the entire bridge) looks later to me. 1946 is very early for this kind of marking, but possible I guess. Crown looks to be a replacement as well.

Would definitely also want to see where the serial number is as it doesn't appear in photos of either inside or outside of the caseback.

Thanks Roff, the seller confirmed that he obscured the serial and it's at the back of the case.

Just got the pic with serial, Pic 2 with serial (partly obsured), fonts and spacing of the serial and reference seems to match with the ebay example case in Pic 1.
