gut feeling and experience say outright fake, BUT I have seen two more of these, one from the UK and one from Italy w/ a blue dial.

no ref. no, no (visible) serial no., "20 Atmos", quite poor case quality, everything about it seems wrong, but 3 of the same frankenjunk, or an undocumented late low cost effort ?

I suspect that these are the product of the late 1970s - whether from someone outside of Breitling producing from parts or from a 'semi-official' arrangement in the days when money from any source was welcome.

I agree that there are too many consistencies across pieces to assume that they are completely wrong.

yeah, none of the parts look correct. well, maybe the crown and the subdial hands ?

I have no problem believing that workshops produce as many copies of bogus pieces as they can. I think that happens more and more.
