Fascinated by this website, so I just registered because I have what looks like a 1950s Breitling chronograph. However, above the Breitling logo (the script style logo) it has in block capitals the name E. MEYER The Breitling logo is also stamped on the movement and the inside of the back of the case. The inside of the back also has the numerals 866 1070. The outside has the numerals 50341 and the French (I think) for stainless steel, FOND ACIER INOXYDABLE. Can anyone tell me anything about this watch?

Pics would, of course, help.
I have no problem with the Mayer branding, this might have been a reseller or a commissioned series, but the numbers inside and outside the casebeack do neither seem to correspond to any Breitling model I can think of, nor a period correct serial number. Again, nothing definite can be said without seeing watch and movement shots.

The only E. Meyer that I am aware of was a parts supplier back in the 30s and 40s, but don't believe that they had any watches with their name on. Of course it could be one of the hundreds of retailer pairings, but pictures will tell us a lot more.

Not the greatest photos, but I don't like it. The Breitling on the dial looks too low, and 'cramped' - it clearly looks like the E.Meyer branding is correct and not intended to be co-branded. The serial number is inconsistent with Breitling and the Breitling on the inside of the caseback has been added later.

And a Landeron from a period where those were definitely not used by Breitling. Sorry, but this is a Fake.

A bit disappointing, but thanks for the comments. Two questions: what is a Landeron? And, if the branding is E. Meyer, is this watch made by the 1930s/40s parts supplier?

Landeron is the manufacturer of the movement - not used by Breitling at this point, and some debate as to whether they were ever used.

No idea who made it, that's simply the only E. Meyer that I am aware of.
