I do think it's difficult for collectors and flippers to think someone would/could add a period mark to an otherwise aged dial. But, alas, that's been happening over the past couple of years and not just to faux Breitlings. This style/version script "Breitling" has been appearing on all manner of vintage pieces and it is criminal activity to my thinking. It's a fraud and pitiable despoilment of an otherwise fine chronograph. I'm not sure who is doing it, but I'm thinking they are on the edge of the EU.

I am new to this site but have been following for a long time. I am so glad I have joined for all the vintage collectors I have messaged and read their accounts here with integrity and honesty. Something lost in our world today.
I may be new here but not unfamiliar as it were with our beloved Breitlings and this one being passed off is an absolute travesty to both collector and restoration community alike. I just hope in my heart of hearts that one that does look at "piece" is aware enough to know about Breitling signatures on the dial placements and close the page.
Thank you all of you great men of integrity for helping to shield light on pieces that those even like myself question for the proper answers to help put those counterfeiters and frauds out of business.

Wayne

The next important question after we know this is not a Breitling, any clues from which donor vintage this dial could have come from? Looks a beautiful donor watch ruined by fake logos:(!

As Fred says, Chronographe Suisse.

The fact that half the name is still on the dial is a bit of a giveaway, but even without that it's an obvious one (or reading earlier posts in the thread would tell you).
