-----> Excellent condition late 1960s Breitling Navitimer reference 816 <---------- Features the lovely and wholly reliable Venus 178 17J movement that has just been fully serviced, keeps excellent time, fully functional and with a new mainspring installed. Gotta love the column wheel chronograph movement! The dial, hands and sliderule insert are ALL ORIGINAL, not redialed. All fonts are perfectly intact with zero fading. This is quite rare especially for the sliderule insert. Have a close look at the lovely dial! It is stunning! With just the right amount of gentle patina only Father Time can create. The bold fluorescent orange hands make for easy reading and also highlight the incredible vintage aesthetics of yesteryear. The sliderule bezel insert is New Old Stock and in mint condition. There were two iterations of this bezel insert, and this is the variation that features black with brushed steel tips. Most of these were destroyed or damaged; however, this one is pretty much perfect. The sliderule bezel turns freely and easily but also stays put pretty well when left alone. The large and expansive domed crystal is original and in excellent condition. FYI, replacements are no longer available. The case has a brushed finish all around and has no scratches, gouges or pitting. The caseback is also features a brushed finish. The lugs are even in size, which suggests that the watch wasn't ever abused finish-wise during its service history. Outside caseback has typically faded for reference # 816 due to the engravings being very shallow; however, inside caseback engravings are wholly intact. The small plastic black cap insert on the right side of the case is original, intact, perfect condition and solidly installed. This watch is surprisingly thin. The sleek profile allows it to be worn under a cuffed shirt nicely and appears very elegant. Attached to the watch is a perfectly matching milanese brushed bracelet. The finish of the bracelet is the same as the brushed watchcase. Also the right amount of thickness of the bracelet compliments the watch without being too thick. In other words, it's all balanced just right. The feel on the wrist is WOW. There are not too many of these around anymore and it's getting exceedingly difficult to find one in terrific condition with a freshly serviced movement these days. Yes I do have this listed on the ‘Bay as well. I am a veteran Ebay member since 2000 with perfect 100% feedback and over 1400 positive transactions. I’m asking $3500 shipped.
