For sale is a 1959 vintage Breitling Navtimer 806. This is the watch that has been recently discussed in this thread in the Vintage Breitling Discussion area: viewtopic.php?f=11&t=57636

The particulars:

This Breitling Navtimer 806 is serial number 919672. I sent it to Horological Services and received the following comments on its condition:

Findings on examination (without complete movement disassembly) include:
- Stainless steel case with light usage nicks & scratches. Probably original strap.
- Missing crown and stem. Winding/setting stem is actually broken off, part of which remains in the movement.
Pusher tubes corroded.
- Outer bezel frozen.
- Dial & hands blemished, spotted, with blackened luminous.
- Hour hand paint chipped at hub.
- Slide-rule green, corroded - watch shows obvious history of exposure to moisture, perspiration.
- Movement is dirty, dry on oil. The crown and 4-Hr pusher received a shock. The hour hammer is stuck
in and is possibly bent (there may be a breakage when straightening). The minute recorder aperture appears OK.
There may be wear to the center wheel and/or mainspring upper barrel arbor hole.
- There may be areas of wear and/or damage internally - to be determined at complete disassembly.

The watch is restorable to good working order and appearance. The watch is long out of production, is not water or
dust- resistant, and is not recommended for daily wear.

Now, the crown and stem were originally with the watch, but they fell out and were lost before it was sent in for evaluation. They have not been located.

I have also decided not to attempt to open the case. The case was opened (and serial number identified) when it was sent in for evaluation. The paperwork from Horological Services will be included with the sale of the watch.

The owner has decided to sell the watch as is, and let the new owner decide how best to proceed with the restoration.

So, with all of that, the watch is being sold as is, no warranty.

The asking price is $3700.00 US (three thousand, seven hundred dollars US) or best offer. I will listen to all offers.

Shipping and insurance to the new buyer is additional. I will consider shipping international, but at the buyers expense. The customs declaration paperwork in this situation will reflect the actual sales price.

I don't check the forum often, so it would be best to email me directly at emccomas57@gmail.com.

Please feel free to email with any questions, etc. I have additional pictures that I can email upon request.

Owner says to sell it, so one time price reduction before we go to Ebay.

$3000 firm plus shipping and insurance.

Would like to find this watch a good home with someone who understands what it is and appreciates it as such.

Email me at emccomas57@gmail.com.

Thanks.
