Hi all,

I am searching for an early Chronomat ref 786 (ref 769 with 3 subdials).
I know that they are very difficult to find but who knows...
If someone here has one for sale do not hesitate to pm me.

Thank you.

Best regards,

Nicolas

Nicolas

please get it the back of the line... there's about 100 people looking and all we have seen (ever) are 2 or 3 watches with only 1 correct :)

interesting point, btw., there SEEMS to be a "Sweden only" version of the 786 w/ a Landeron movement, saw two wrecks that seemed to indicate this; most of the 786 that ever came up were KS-brandeded, just one was/is not.

not rubbing it in, not for sale, just so that casual lookers will know what we are talking about.

as we have no research thread I'll add that Landeron based piece here, only pic of a non-wreck I ever saw, sorry for messing up yr WTB ;)

No problem Fred.
Very interesting.
It seems that, probably due to the Landeron movement architecture, subdials are smaller on the swedish one than on the one with the Venus.

Are hands always in this configuration?
- red "large" hand for the minute counter
- black "medium" hand for the hour counter
- black thin hand for the second

Thanks

leaving the Landeron Kronometer piece aside (does not bear a model ref. no. btw, or the two "wreck" cases I saw did not) , the Venus 178-based ref. 786 has the same running seconds and minute counter hands we see on the mid 1940s Chronomat ref. 769, I assume the other ref. 786 had similar hands, the one other 786 we saw did have them. Hesitate a bit to say "always" with a sample size of two ;)
