Now ON HOLD, Pending a possible Trade.Mike
Gentlemen and others,
Up for grabs is a real beast of a watch, the enormous Breitling SuperOcean Chronograph M2000 Superquartz, the A73310.
If you like a large watch, this might be your cup of tea. It's housed in a mirror-polished 46mm steel Diver case, (a massive 51.2mm with Crown), and I think it's probably the deepest of any watch I've owned at 19.1mm. The lug to lug measurement is a huge 57.2mm, so really not suitable for the twig-wristed out there...
There's a pretty informative review here, which discusses the superquartz movement, the incredible 2000m Water Resistance, and the magnetic push-piece system for the chronograph, etc:
http://www.watchtime.com/wristwatch-ind ... aph-m2000/This Chronometre certified model, which incorporates the Breitling Calibre 73 Superquartz movement (based on the ETA Thermoline 251.232), was first introduced in 2012, and remains part of Breitling's current line (my watch dates to week 22 of 2012, so end of May/beginning of June).
The thermocompensated SuperQuartz movement is officially accurate to 15 seconds per year according to Breitling, or just 10 seconds per year according to ETA! In most cases, the Superquartz exceeds even those figures - I've had this since April 2014, and it's about half a second out!
It is the Volcano Black Dial with the rarer 'Green Zones' trim, and is mounted on the matching 234X SuperOcean Water-Resistant Leather strap (24-20, Black, with Green lining), with a high-polish tang buckle (new raised style logo).
Functions include the 1/10th Second Chronograph (Registers up to 12 Hours), a Quickset Date, Fast Hour-only adjust, 2000M Water resistance.
Official Specs and more details can be found here:
http://www.breitlingsource.com/watch_de ... n_261.html CONDITION REPORT:
Crystal: The 4mm thick slightly domed Sapphire Crystal is in perfect condition. The Anti-reflective coating (treated on both sides) is pristine.
Dial: 'Volcano Black' Dial, 'Green Zones' accenting on Registers. Applied polished steel markers with luminous fill centre; Applied Steel Breitling logo; Quickset Date window at 4:30 position; Minute marker track; 0-100 Chapter Ring scale. All in immaculate condition, lume is superb.
Sub-Registers: 3 Sub-Registers (1/10th Second Chrono Register, 12 Hour Chrono register, main time Seconds register). All are steel framed, with green accenting, and steel pointed baton indicators.
Hands: The Hour and Minute hands are steel pointed batons, segmented on the minute hand, with a luminous fill. The central Chronograph Seconds hand is red-dipped steel, with a polished steel counterbalance. All excellent, and again, the lume glows like a torch, and lasts for a good spell.
Case: The oversized case is a classic diver-style, in a mirror-polished steel. Condition is excellent, one or two very minor swirls or hairlines at worst. I've given it a gentle polish, and it really does look superb - even on the high-polish finish, I'm struggling to find anything vaguely detrimental. Certainly no nasty dinks or gouges.
Caseback: The caseback is the 15-sided screwback type, in a high polish finish, except to the centre which has a matt base with the Breitling Logo and wording in a raised and polished finish. Markings are clear, including Model and Serial numbers. There are some negligible hairlines, but nothing nasty - see photos.
Bezel: The unidirectional steel bezel, with a fluted 'sawtooth' edge, rotates smoothly with 120 nicely ratcheted 'clicks'. The matt Black bezel insert has italicised steel Arabic numbering at the quarters, baton markers at the other points, and is immaculate - no marks or scratches. The chimney (the slim circle of steel that sits over the crystal) has some very minor scuffing, nothing nasty or obvious.
Crown/Pushers/Helium Escape Valve: The 3 position Screw-Down crown is steel, with fluted sides, and is partially shrouded. It features a double-gasket to ensure water resistance. It is clearly signed with the fancy 'B'. The two steel pushers (which magnetically activate the chronograph functions) are set in a fluted steel base. Crown and Pushers are in top condition, and all work perfectly. The decompression valve is set into the case at the 9 o'clock position, and is mint.
Movement/Running: I've had this since late April, and performance has been perfect. The chronograph starts/stops/resets exactly as it should. The Quickset date clicks over bang on midnight. As mentioned above, the timekeeping is accurate to an astonishing degree.
Please note that the watch has not been tested for water resistance in the time I've had it, and as it's now just over 2 years old, I would certainly recommend a pressure test if immersion in water is likely. Whether you can find anyone apart from Breitling who can test it to its original 2000 metres rating is doubtful!
Strap: The watch is mounted on a 24-20 SuperOcean specific 234X Black/Green water-resistant strap (it's extremely comfortable, and feels like soft rubber, but is actually specially treated leather). It's thickly padded, with the standard Breitling stitching, and fixed and floating keepers. The strap is complete with a highly-polished tang buckle, with the 'raised' Breitling logo. The strap has been worn, and has some curvature as you would expect, some minor creasing where the buckle has been fastened, and light signs of use to a couple of the holes - but no tears, nicks or other damage. Colour is excellent, no fade or whitening. I've given the buckle a gentle polish, and it has come up beautifully - there are some inevitable tiny hairlines on the polished steel, but nothing you wouldn't get after a day or two of normal wear.
Box/Papers: The watch comes in a Breitling Yellow/Silver outer Box, a bit tatty but complete, and a new style Travel Case. I don't have the original paperwork, but I do have a Certificate of Authenticity from 'Time Exchange', where the previous owner obtained the watch. I've also got a User Manual for the Breitling 73 movement, in a PDF File format, which I can provide if needed. The watch case is clearly marked with '2212B5', which dates the watch to week 22 of 2012 (26 May - 3 June 2012) - so it is just over 2 years old.
Measurements: Width (without Crown): 46mm (51.2mm with Crown). Thickness: 19.1mm. Lug-to-lug: 57.2mm. Lug Width: 24mm. Weight: Head only 141 grams, 164 grams with strap.
Other: The full Breitling reference for this model and trim is A73310 A8/BB75/234X/A20BA.1
The M2000 is part of Breitling's current range - and your friendly Breitling AD would relieve you of a cool £3620 for the watch on the SO Leather strap option.
Mine is just over 2 years old, and I don't have the original paperwork - but it is in terrific condition, both mechanically and cosmetically.
Comparable models on the 'bay seem to be going for around the £2300 mark (considerably higher in some cases). I'd be surprised if you could find one in better pre-owned condition than this, but even so, I'll put this up at an extremely reasonable £1949. The price includes Next Day Special Delivery for UK Buyers. If you're in Europe add £15 for Insured and Tracked shipping, £20 for the rest of the world.
I reckon that's a very good deal for someone out there, so the price is firm. Trades/PX offers welcome, but I'm trying to rationalise the collection a bit, so ideally would prefer a straight sale.
I've loads of Feedback on here, I'm a 'Top Rated' e-bay seller (2950+ deals, 100%, username 'goonermike'), and I've got plenty of Feedback on TZ-UK (username 'BigBird'), so there are no worries there.
I'd prefer BT. PayPal if absolutely necessary, or for overseas, but I cannot accept PayPal Gifts (my account just won't accept them, and I get charged even on gifts). So if you want to use PayPal, it'll be via the 'official' route, and you'll need to add 3.4% to contribute towards Fees.
If I've missed anything, you'd like more info or pics, please feel free to PM me.
Cheers!
Mike
