This is a sale from the original owner of the watch since new. My father and I purchased Navitimers together over 35 years ago. Mine is the 7806 with calendar. (The other is the 806 in Gold that I have since inherited and may also consider selling.) So the watch has had one owner throughout its life.

Breitling has taught me a considerable amount about these watches over the years but I am not a dealer. I have copies of servicing and the dealer in New York confirmed that they still have those records.

The specific model number 7806 for the watch I am selling is shown clearly on the back (See photos). I have seen several questions and comments on this forum about Breitlings of this period having 806 on the back plate but actually being styled as 809s. Any verification needed from the experts on the forum is appreciated.

Asking $2,600 USD for the 7806. I stopped wearing the watch a few years ago because I can no longer read the dial for calculations. So it it time for it to move to a new owner. (I intend to list the Gold 806 later, however, if a buyer or collector wants to buyer a “vintage set” that have always been owned and cared for together throughout their life they should contact seller).

Description & History: Sawtooth bezel and white subdials along with the 'Twin Jet' logo and Breitling name on the dial. The watch has been maintained by a top Breitling Dealer in New York during its life who also recently helped me with my maintenance records and the serial number. Ser. No.1431996 for the 7806 is deemed to have been manufactured around 1974 and this model was only made for a few years. They also previously relumed the hands and polished the crystal as part of a clean up a dozen years ago and the luminous is still readable at night. I note that some watches on the forum only showed the hands as luminous but mine includes the dial markings and the “12” as well (See photos).

Condition: The domed Acrylic Crystal is in excellent order, no visible marks (See photos). Original Black Dial, with 3 Sub-Dial Registers, steel surrounds. Left register is main Seconds hand, Right register is Chrono minutes, while the lower register is the Chrono hours. Black 'spear' indicators on the registers (See Photos).

Also separate calendar wheel between the four and five o’clock positions (photos). This feature is what I understand to be the key difference between the 7806 with calendar and the 806 model without this feature.

Hour and Minute hands are slim steel 'swords', with a luminous centers (See photos). The central Chronograph hand is needle style with an arrowhead tip (See photos). The case is a classic diver-style, in a high-polish steel in original condition. It has a snapdown caseback with the gasket in very good condition (See photos). There a two very small scratches on the case side. One at the 6 o’clock and one at 9 o’clock (See photos). The bidirectional steel bezel, with a sawtooth-edge, rotates the white chapter ring smoothly with the proper amount of resistance. Very good condition.

All original Push-Down ridged-edge steel crown, clear 'B' signed. Two steel pushers. Very good to excellent, all work perfectly. Breitling markings are clear (see the photos ).

Movement/Running: fully serviced movement (17 Jewels unadjusted). I believe this is the Valjoux movement since it is unadjusted and the pushers are not precisely the same distance from the crown. The last running time I did was on May 8-9 against the online atomic clock was within 4 seconds for a run time of 23 hours. I believe that can get a little slower if all the timers are also running. The specific results are below (the website adjusts its readout to local time around the world so I set it to Mountain Standard)

Face showing Time showing May 8 - 9, 2013

08:24:00 am Breitling 7806 08:22:32 am atomic-clock.org.uk

07:25:00 am 07:23:36 am

23:01:00 23:01:04 4 second difference

Total variance in run time was 4 seconds slower than the atomic clock over the 23 hour period. The watch is in excellent order. All timers are working and still have a nice sharp flyback.

I would prefer to use Paypal which also protects buyer. I have owned and cared for this watches since it was new long time and want the new owner to be 100% satisfied before and after any transaction. Overseas will need to contact me for exact Shipping costs based on destination, but I'll use Fed-Ex/UPS for tracking.

NOTE: I am not seeing the photos I uploaded with this post. Will try to add them.

I wouldn't pursue this if I were you. The OP has proved unreliable at best, and difficult to contact.

The thread dates back to May. He's not posted here since, which speaks volumes.

Dear Sir;

I am not certain why posting in May and not being desperate to sell at any price is so wrong, especially after being the original owner of TWO vintage Breitlings for over 30 years that are still keeping superb time and continue to increase in value.

I have responded to several inquiries since then and do not think I have missed anyone. Sadly, however, it seems that you are now required to obtain Mr. Gooner's license before you are allowed to make any further inquiry. You may refer the issue to the site administrators if you wish.

You have my kind regards and sympathy.

Perhaps you can explain why your e-mail address suddenly stopped receiving e-mails 4 days after sending out details of the watch for sale? Very strange, as it is your work e-mail address?

Or why the eBay references you supplied were spurious?

I'm sure you have a perfectly reasonable explanation, and I'll happily withdraw my earlier note if this is the case.

Mike

The site administrators can check and confirm that I have used the same email since I first made this posting and that none of the emails to me from this site have bounced back. A lawfirm in Denver did try to offer its email and paypal account to someone who kept asking outside this website for the watches to be shipped overseas without payment. The discussion ended there and that lawfirm has indeed altered its email since then. So it seems very difficult to view your comment about a changed email as simply a coincidence. Any proper inquiry made through this website would automatically go to the proper email just like the one you decided to interfere with rather unethically and without justification - purely to fulfill your own agenda.
