Now Removed - and off to the 'bay shortly...

£100 OFF - NOW £1550!

Gentlemen,

Up for grabs is a lovely Breitling Professional B-2 Automatic, the A42362.

This Chronometer Certified model, which incorporates the Breitling 38 Jewel Calibre 42 movement (based on the ETA 2892), was officially produced between 2002 to 2006 (mine is a 2005). The self-winding movement features special 3 hour and 10 minute totalizers, and has a 42 hour rated power reserve.

I've just had Steve at Ryte Time inspect the movement, and regulate it for me (it was running a tad slow). It's now running within COSC Specs, at about +3 seconds per day (consider it within +/-5 seconds per day for the purposes of the sale).

It is the very smart 'Stratus Silver' Dial and Blue SubDials version, and is in superb order. In fact, apart from some light 'desk-diver' swirlies on the clasp and bracelet, it's in near-mint condition.

Official Specs and more details can be found here: http://www.breitlingsource.com/watch_de ... al_30.html

CONDITION REPORT:

Crystal: The Sapphire Crystal is in perfect condition.

Dial: 'Stratus Silver' White Dial, iridescent Blue SubRegisters, Date Window at 4, applied steel lume-filled circular markers. Applied steel '12' and Breitling logo. White Tachymeter/Slide Rule Chapter ring. All in immaculate condition, lume is superb.

Hands: Hour and Minute hands are slim steel 'swords', with a luminous fill. The central Chronograph hand is steel, needle style with a red tip, and a fancy 'B' counterbalance. All excellent, and again, the lume glows like a torch, and lasts for a good spell.

SubDial Registers: Iridescent Deep Blue SubDials: Main Time Seconds recorder at 3, 3 minute totalisator at 6, 10 hour totalisator at 9. Hands on SubDials are lumed mini versions of the main hands. All function perfectly, and 'flyback' correctly.

Case: The case is a classic diver-style, in a lovely satin-brushed finish to the steel. Condition is excellent, one or two very minor swirls at worst. I'm struggling to find anything detrimental. Certainly no nasty dinks or gouges, perhaps an odd shiny edge at worst.

Caseback: The caseback is a 15-sided screwback type. Markings are clear, including Model and Serial numbers, with maybe a few hairlines, nothing obvious - see photos.

Bezel: There is a bidirectional brushed steel bezel, with a sawtooth-edge, and a highly-polished outer, which rotates correctly with a soft resistance for feel (like on the Hercules). Engraved with 360 degree increments, and Compass points. Lumed 'pip' at 12. Signed in Script 'B' on bezel edge at 54. One or two very light hairlines on the bezel, but only if you're really looking for them, and even then only up close.

Crown/Pushers: Original 2 position Push-Down ridged-edge steel crown, clear 'B' signed. Two steel pushers. Really nice condition, and all work perfectly.

Movement/Running: I've just had Steve at Ryte Time inspect this for me, and he's regulated the movement. The Breitling-signed Calibre 42 Automatic movement is in excellent order, and running accurately. All functions work perfectly - date clicks over at midnight, chrono resets to zero etc.). Please note that the watch has not been pressure tested recently - the B2 is rated at up to 100M, but I would advise testing before immersion in water.

Bracelet: Original Fighter Bracelet, 22-20, the rarer satin-brushed steel version 892A. Very nice condition, with some light 'desk-diver' hairlines and swirls, but nothing nasty. Not stretched or loose. I think it's one link short from original, but will still comfortably fit up to an 8" (200mm) wrist (with a further +1 micro-adjustment hole available). I may be able to get another link if it's desperately needed. The Breitling-signed Foldover clasp with micro-adjustment holes is also in very nice condition, some light swirls. I've gently rebrushed both the bracelet and clasp, and both look very good. The bracelet is correctly signed 892A and with a reference of S1004, giving it a production date of October 2004.

Box/Papers: Full set, and all mint, except for a few light marks on the Outer Yellow box; the Bakelite Black Box with display cushion, Instruction Manual, Authorised Distributors List, Slide Rule Instructions, Slide Rule, COSC Certificate, original Warranty Booklet (Goldsmiths, dated 25 July 2005), Document Wallet, and a Bezel protector.

Measurements: Width (without Crown): 43.2mm. Thickness: 15mm. Lug-to-lug: 51mm. Lug Width 22mm. Weight 207 grams

Other: The B2 wears quite large at 43.2mm across without Crown/Pushers. It's got a serious amount of weight to it as well (207g), and has a real wrist presence. I guess you'd call it a tool watch, but the metallic 'stratus silver'/white Dial is quite dressy and elegant, and looks very smart.

This is a lovely example of the B2, condition is excellent. The previous owner only wore it on special occasions, and even if I say so myself, the condition on this one is about as nice as it gets. There are some very light 'Desk Diver' swirlies on the clasp and bracelet, but for a nigh-on 8 year old watch, I think this is a cherry - I've seen 3 month old watches that don't look as nice as this.

On the 'bay, the cheapest I could find was an older non Box/Paper version, on a generic strap, which is advertised at £1620+ £60 P+P. For a model comparable to mine, the prices start at around £1900 and go up to over £2400!

I'll put this up at an extremely reasonable £1650, now reduced to £1550!. The price includes Next Day Courier Delivery for UK Bidders - It's a heavy package (@1.25kgs) and will cost me about £14.00 to post. If you're overseas, you will need to contact me for exact Shipping costs based on destination. I'll shoulder the first £14 costs, but there will be a minimum surcharge of around £15 for Western Europe, up to a maximum £25 extra for Asia/Australia. I'll use a courier (Fed-Ex/UPS) for safer Tracked Shipping.

I reckon that's an extremely good deal for someone out there, so the price is firm. Trades/PX offers welcome, but I'm trying to rationalise the collection a bit, so ideally would prefer a straight sale.

I've loads of Feedback on here, I'm a 'Top Rated' e-bay seller (2300+ deals, 100%, username 'goonermike'), and I've got plenty of Feedback on TZ-UK (username BigBird), so there are no worries there.

I'd prefer BT. PayPal if absolutely necessary, or for overseas, but I cannot accept PayPal Gifts (my account just won't accept them, and I get charged even on gifts). So if you want to use PayPal, it'll be via the 'official' route, and you'll need to add 3% to contribute towards Fees.

If I've missed anything, you'd like more info or pics, please feel free to PM me.

Cheers!

Mike
