**Now on hold. Thanks for the possibility to use the Trading Post.***

I have only had this for a couple of weeks; it was an impulse buy as I have never owned a Tourbillon before. However as soon as I held it in my hands I began to realise that it isn't for me: the Roman numerals and the non-centric design just don't work for me. For a short period it looked like one of my friends was going to have it but he has now made up his mind that he won't.

I suppose Sea-Gull is well known around here, they are the world's largest manufacturer of mechanical movements. What is less known is that they do not only produce for the masses but also do some fine complications. Here we have one of their finest: A Sea-Gull ST8004SA Tourbillon Double-Retrograde. It features a real open flying Tourbillon and two retrograde displays for weekday and date.

All the technical details here: http://www.seagullwatch.eu/tourb/ST8004SA.php

Note: The Sea-Gull website states that the watch is 37mm, I however measure 40mm (without crown). Not sure where the difference comes from.

The web is full of write-ups about the Sea-Gull Tourbillons, they are generally rated very good but some people do have strong opinions. I found this thread to summarise my impressions quite well: http://forums.watchuseek.com/f72/personal-thoughts-owning-sea-gull-tourbillon-763917.html

Included is the watch on the original Sea-Gull Alligator strap in brown and original deployant, a second original Alligator strap in black, box, manual, wooden pusher for setting the retrograde hands and warranty card (unstamped). The watch is like new, the previous owners says he has worn it a handful of times and I have worn it once for a wrist-shot.

For sale at [s]£1,850[/s] NOW £1,700 including tracked shipping to your front door in Western Europe.

Tradewise: an Omega Speedmaster comes to mind, any handwound model will be considered from pre-moon to 3570/3572/3573. Or something German (Nomos, GO, Lange, Dornbluth). Try me.
