Hi, Wondering if anyone is considering parting with one? I'm particularly after one with the yellow face and black pro diver rubber strap. Prefer mint/light use, recently serviced and astonishingly inexpensive ![]() Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk 2 |

This might help. I have dealt with Angus before on another watch forum, so don't worry because it's on **** Link removed by OP. (Apologies Roff. ![]() As you'll see from my signature I am no stranger to the M1. It's a fantastic bit of kit. This was the yella fella I had ![]() Good luck |

Thanks for that - I'd already seen that and placed a couple of offers (both declined) before the first BIN or best offer auction was pulled and relisted as a standard auction with BIN. It does look lovely (not as lovley as yours with the UTC though), but his absolute can't go lower lowest price was rather above what I was offering. Recent ones to sell in the US (OK, not quite comparable) were £1250 for a mint one on a black rubber and a similarly mint one on Pro I titanium for £1450, and those prices line up with the suggestions of value for one in another thread. I'm sure the one from Angus is beautiful and he's a straight-up guy, but if I end up paying £1700-£1800 by the time I've changed the strap (I much prefer the black with the yellow than the blue), then I'm at a price point where there are a number of more desireable alternatives (there's an 07 SuperOcean Steelfish X-Plus up at £1675 or offer and an 08 Seawolf Avenger Titanium at £1600 or offer for example, both of which are making me twitch) Or am I being unrealistic? As the watch you've mentioned is not advertised here I guess it's acceptable to speculate on value..? What would you suggest that the one Angus is selling should go for (2001 watch, serviced 2010, private seller)? |

I understand where you are with regards choices. If I was looking for another yellow M1, I would try to get another Limited Edition Team SEB as it has the Regatta countdown face which the standard yellow doesn't. I have seen a picture of a standard yellow (Non Team SEB) with the countdown but I think they were also a limited run. I rue the day I parted with the M1 and UTC. I bought an Emergency Mission with the proceeds. Same movement as the M1 but even more wrist presence. |

Thanks, but not questioning that at all; no reason for concern in the those areas. Just needs to drop the price a little. I look forward to seeing where this end up - it's currently less than I offered, but there's some interest in it. Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk 2 |

Sounds great, but I suspect I might be searching a long time to find one of those. My worry is that if I search to long, the lady of the house may well have spent the watch fund on soft furnishings. ![]() |

The lady of the house should not be aware if its existence ![]() When asked "when did you get that?" on sporting a new aquisition, the answer is, "oh I've had that for months." ![]() |

I have more 'available funds' than I let on just in case I see that once in a lifetime piece. Same with my Nikon DSLRs, upgraded every 18 months with no suspicion whatsoever. ![]() |

The lady of the house should not be aware if its existence ![]() When asked "when did you get that?" on sporting a new aquisition, the answer is, "oh I've had that for months." ![]() That's my usual tactic, but on this occasion she's come into a little money and suggested that she might put some money towards "that Breitling you've always wanted". And it's that that started my search. The fact that since then she's looked very disapproving at every one I've shown her and also said "what do you want another watch for? There are four in front of you already..." suggests that the offer may well be withdrawn. In the past, I've told her that I'd bought another motorbike during one of the speeches at her friends wedding; that minimised her shouting. The best yet was, on purchasing yet another motorcycle, I left it parked right outside the front door but with a Gucci necklace draped over the handlebar. She saw the bike, strode towards it ranting, then melted. Job done. |
