Looking for my first Breitling.

I'm guessing it would be quartz and/or someone's "beater" of sorts, but you never know!

PLEASE SEE UPDATE BELOW ON NEW PRICE AND TRADES, ETC.

I am looking to be under (the further the better) $1000. (NOT ANYMORE, now 1300 or more, SEE BELOW)

Or, in trade or trade+Cash I can offer my 1948 Omega 'bumper' automatic dress watch.

This is my first post on this forum. HOWEVER, I have been active on WUS for several years and have a stellar reputation there.

Let me know what, if anything, you have!

Regards,

Brian

UPDATING: Can now offer in trade - 1) Longines Heritage 1954, 2) Tag Heuer F1 Grande Date (complete set, gorgeous condition), 3) the Omega 'bumper' auto.

ALSO - price range up to $1300.

You could probably get a SuperOcean with a mechanical movement for around that price.....im sure ive seen a few for sale recently on here that were located in the States that were priced pretty sweet :)

Thanks. That's what I am hoping. I don't even need mechanical movt. It could be a Quartz. I'm hoping someone has a "beater" or watch they just aren't wearing anymore that they are looking to unload.

My goal is to try out a Breitling, see if I like the style, and down the road upgrade when I have a more reasonable cash-flow.

Thanks again.

I am new here as well and actually just purchased my first Breitling from a member of this site. I have been looking for a couple weeks and was not sure what I wanted and how much to expect to pay. Outside of the extreme amount of knowledge found here I leveraged http://www.watchrecon.com to give me rough base line on what models sell for on the used market and what is currently fs... As well as real life pics vs catalog pics.... I hope this helps.

Thanks. Thats a cool website. I am just starting to figure out what I want, but it really depends a lot on what people have.

I think it is going to be a stretch, but we'll see!

Watchrecon shows a good selection (not all) of what's out there forsale.

Posting here is good to cause someone may have one that they have been thinking of selling and have not posted it

Still looking! Let me know what you all have!

Edit: I've also got some CASH, some cheapies (Swiss army, g-shock, etc), an ST dupont Pen, and a Nintendo Wii i could include as part of an overall trade package along with the Omega bumper. Just throwing it out there.

A Pluton is a good starter beater watch imho. Can be had for little money usually in the $500-$800 range. Good quartz movement which is easy to find a replacement for if needed.

Thanks for the tip. I saw one of those on "the big auction site" but it has a blue dial and I am looking for anything but blue I think since I already have an Omega SMP Bond blue watch... hopefully I come across another color dial! I'm in no rush to purchase, want to make sure I get some value even though I am trying to go "cheap."

Thanks again.
