Looking for a change?

Hi all,

I have this great 22mm – 18mm Tang type Breitling Croco strap that I’ve had on my Montbrillant Datora. The official colour (so I’m told) is ‘Avenger Brown’. It has a really nice warmth about the colour that is a little deeper that a flat, straight brown strap.
I think the difference with the 22mm – 18mm (rather than the ‘normal’ 22mm – 20mm) is that the taper of the strap accentuates the size of the watch head better.

As mentioned, I own this strap and am simply looking for a visual change from brown to black. If you have a black croco strap & are looking for a change too, here’s your chance. I’d like to trade / swap this one for your black 22mm croco strap.

This strap is used, but in very good condition with lots of life left in it. I’m hesitant to actually give this a rating, as I really do not know what scale to use or how accurate my ratings would be compared to yours.

To get around this, I’ve tried to take the best photos that I can so you can make a decision. Naturally, if you are interested and want some additional photo’s (or any more info) that’s not an issue at all, just PM me.

I have hosted the images on Photobucket so you can see more than what would be appropriate to host here. To see larger images, simply click on ‘view slideshow’ link.

Follow the link below & enter the password croco_22 when asked.

As for a ‘trade value’ as specified in the forum rules, I’m again a little unsure how to value this. Here in Australia I visited a dealer this week who told me the retail value on a new croco strap is AU$710, the buckle is AU$60, or a total of AU$770 (I know, we get ripped off here).

The US price lists on this forum state the new value in 2009 to be US$480 for the croco strap & US$25 for the buckle, or US$505 all up.

If I half these values for a used strap, the trade value comes to $250 - $385. To keep the forum moderators happy, let’s agree on the actual trade value being the midway point of AU$317.50.

Just to be clear - I’m not interested in selling this, so please don’t PM me asking if I will. I actually like the strap, but would simply prefer to give a black strap a run for a while.

Thanks for looking.

I think you may struggle to get a swap.

Most of us on here have more straps than watches, and change them as often as our shoes!

eBay is a good source, and there are some decent aftermarket ones available
