Hello all. This is my first sales post so here goes....
Up for sale is a circa 1960s Le Gant Chronograph. Le Gant was the name Montgomery Ward used for their line of Swiss Made watches. This is a very very nice piece in phenomenal condition. This is a 17j manual wind watch, with an scratch free domed acrylic crystal and bidirectional bezel. The case diameter is approx 38mm.
My watch guy has just given this a complete overhaul so it is ready for wear. He suspects this is a Valjoux movement. This watch is in perfect working order, and near mint 95-98% condition. Even the lume still glows! Another interesting feature includes the Incabloc shock protection system. This was developed in 1934 and functions to protect the balance assembly from shock.
I suspect this was a divers watch as indicated by the case back engraving of a snorkler. Also, per the case back it is water resistant to 200 meters. However, I have NOT had this watch seal tested. If buyer wishes I can have that done.
Finally, this watch features a brand new 100% black leather strap with pin buckle. I suspect this is not original to the watch, but it is a very nice heavily padded band.
Price for this beauty is $450 inclusive of fees, insurance, and S&H. I will accept paypal or bank wire. I prefer CONUS buyers only. If you are international, or outside the CONUS, and interested please PM me International buyers, and this outside the CONUS, will be responsible for S&H and any customs fee/duties.
