Post subject: | Clasp and Buckle Part Number Decoder |
All, I've been doing some research in order to wrap my brains around how Breitling classifies their clasps and buckles as I'm trying to upgrade a rubber strap and deployant clasp on my Super Avenger Blacksteel. I think the information below is accurate and I'm posting it here as I haven't seen anything else like it on the web. If anyone out there with better insights than mine recognizes inaccuracies, please correct them. Here goes: Sample Part Number: Ex. M20DSA.4 - 1st digit: Material type and/ or surface coating
E = Titanium M = Stainless Steel; Blacksteel DLC Coating V = Titanium; Blacksteel DLC Coating X = Breightlight - 2nd digit, 3rd digit: Size
20 = 20mm - 4th digit and/or 5th digit: Type
D = Deployant clasp (leather and rubber) S = Rubber strap buckle, engraved logo ("rectangular-shaped") SS = Rubber strap buckle, raised logo ("rectangular-shaped") - 5th digit, 6th digit, and/or 7th digit: Finish
SA = Satin finish ("brushed") - Last digit after decimal point: Version
.2 = First iteration; rubber deployant clasps (older style deployant clasp with exposed spring bar pinhole and tapered folding bars) .3 = Second iteration; leather buckles and leather deployant clasps (conjecture: I haven't been able to find any examples of this part number anywhere. It's likely being reserved for a buckle/clasp redesign) .4 = Second iteration; rubber deployant clasps (newer style deployant clasp, no exposed spring bar pinholes, square folding bars) M20DSA.4 Decoded
Size: 20mm Type: Deployant clasp Finish: Satin Version: Second iteration of rubber deployant clasp |
