I just purchased one these push button deployment clasp and wanted to see if anyone else has fitted it to a custom leather strap? I picked up this pro diver II strap with clasp at a great price used. I already sent out the rubber straps fitted to my wrist to the leather fabricator to use it as a template, and he is making a custom leather strap to fit the clasp. This push button clasp is a well thought out piece and the quality is superb. This design is so much better than the deployment clasp with inner sleeves for the leather straps. The micro adjustments is pretty clever as there is a push button inside the clasp to adjust the length of the strap. One quick push forward or backward and your band is adjusted on the fly and no need to adjust a spring bar! I will keep you posted of the final product once my custom strap get into my hands. If anyone has done this please show some pictures so I can see what it looks like. I am excited and can't wait to get it back.

Polished it up with cap code as it came to me pretty scratched up but now it looks new!

Good luck. You'll be the first I've ever seen do this.

It has been done. Aleister did it with ABP although the pictures aren't in his thread any more and Stone Creek Straps have also done it.

I can't understand why watchmakers aren't putting their steel bracelets on ratcheting clasps. I have one bracelet with a ratcheting clasp it's a really great feature.

Some are, although the majority are micro-brands and they all use the same type of set-up. The major brands who are using these are most notably Rolex and Omega, although I'm still waiting for them to roll it out onto their Seamaster/PO lines.

The type used by micros (and also Doxa) have an external adjustment that allows it to be adjusted without taking the watch off, but personally I'm not much of a fan of those types. The Rolex/Omega versions are much nicer IMO.

Very interesting indeed, I can't wait to see the result. That strap looks very beautiful & will suit the Navi' perfectly IMO. I did enquire with a British custom strapmaker 3 or 4 years ago about doing this, but unfortunately he didn't do the 22/20mm 'taper', straight cut only, so not able to help. Perhaps I'll widen my field & see if I can come up with a strapmaker in the U.K. who would be willing to do this.

I will post pictures of it as soon as it comes back! Joe the owner of SNPRSTRAPS said they do custom work for clients all over the world, so if you wanted this same thing done you can have it done. Since he will have my rubber straps as a template, all you would need to tell him is the choice of leather and color and give him the lenth of the two straps.

Thanks for that, & I'm pretty sure I'll be getting in touch with Joe soon. So looking forward to your pictures.
Cheers.
