Hi Guys,

I'm considering buying a strap for my Navi World I currently have it on the Navi bracelet. I was wondering if there is a difference in durability/longevity? For example will the croc last longer than the leather and will the strap last longer if it has the deployment buckle rather than the tang?

Thanks for the help in advance.

Croc vs. leather is a wash, deployant will outlast tang because there is less stress on the strap.

The only difference I can see for myself, is the croc will scratch and scuff easier than calf. Deployant is also more comfortable than tang IMO.

The only thing I would add is that the deployment clasp deforms the strap from virtually the first time you wear it because of the way you have to bend and thread it through the clasp on one end.

I have a few deployment straps and a few tangs, of both croc and calf. The tang straps definately get destroyed from pulling them tight but I tend to like the tang buckle more because of my small wrist.

Well said. That's the reason why I prefer tang over deployment buckle.

The current Breitling tang and buckle is actually quite sharp on the leading edge and it can absolutely destroy straps IME. I've seen display models in AD's where the watch had only probably been tried on a few times and yet the strap was already showing signs of wear. IMO the Breitling tang and buckle is truly awful design.

As a design I'm also not the biggest fan of the Breitling deployant but it's less damaging on the strap and infinitely adjustable, so I'd still personally take that anytime over the tang and buckle.

May I make a suggestion? Brown calf, and black croco. It's nice to be able to change it up!

If it's white dial I would suggest camel or light brown croc. In my opinion it is the best combo

Tang never seems to have a hole in exactly the right position. Deployment is like Goldilocks "just right". I love my light brown and deployment, but just the thought of water stains that calf strap. Black calf is pretty forgiving, seems to be a smoother finish while the light brown is a sponge.

Thanks for all the input everyone its much appreciated. I have the black face Navi World. I'm thinking dark brown strap since I wear brown shoes a lot at work and I can always switch back to the bracelet when I wear black (I'm very picky when it comes to matching lol). Ive seen people on here with the brown strap and black face and I think it looks really good.

I might be wrong but I think the popularity of black dial and brown strap combo is known as the Panerai effect.

Same with me, either too tight or too loose. Deploy is the only way for me to get a perfect fit.
