I wonder if this bracelet (clearly going after the Rolex Oyster Fliplock) is legit or fake? This would come as attached to an Aviastar, so from the second half of the nineties, but I have another option to buy one separately. The same can be used with the Grand Premiers too. Never seen this bracelet in Breitling catalogs so the question is open to all who know about it! If real Breitling, must have a fantasy name that I don't knnow either. An estimation of the value (if not against BS rules) is highly welcome too! Thanks a lot! Dracha wrote: legit value ? , whatever someone is prepared to pay they were used on Patrouille de france and other navitimers Thanks for your valuable reply! I have Breitling catalogs from the beginning of the nineties (having some 5 years before Y2K) up to recently (so obviously a few missing) but could not find this bracelet in any of them. Reason I've asked: I used to have a beautiful blue Aviastar which I've sold - and regret it. If I happen to find one again (or black, which is more frequent) I might use this bracelet if I can buy it as the Navi bracelet is disproprotionally expensive for these watches - and I'm a bracelet guy. Possible price of this Sub-like bracelet should be around 200-250 Euros (asking price is 270 Euros but I might bargain a bit if lucky enough). So the plan should be to buy this bracelet (thanks again for making me sure about being legit!) and wait patiently for a blue or black Aviastar to appear. Another question: approximately which year(s) and how long were these bracelets produced for the Patrouille de France and other Navis? Any others chiming in is highly welcome too... ![]() |

Not sure why you need other opinions, Rene already told you it's perfectly real. |

I do not need other opinions on being legit but on pros/cons of the bracelet and on possibly using with an Aviastar (after all it is also a member of the Navi family, at least "lug-wise"), on the value/price (if does not violate forum rules but as being not a watch, only a part, and being "vintage" I hope not) and on possible scan with the bracelet on watches originally made for. |

After seeing the pictures of this bracelet, I was surprised to learn that it was deemed authentic. What a blatant rip off by Breitling. I'd expect this sort of thing from Invicta, but not a respectable Swiss manufacturer. Hope that Breitling at least made their version of the bracelet more heavy duty: the OEM Rolex ones with the stamped flip lock clasps feel like tin foil. |

(As an aside, I'm in the minority that really like the old Oyster bracelet, on the simple grounds that although they (esp the clasp) felt thin, they were actually pretty robust, and that plus the the hollow centre links meant they were much lighter than most other bracelets. My Explorer II gets more wrist time than my other bracelet watches mainly because it's so pleasantly light. Of course there are 180-page debates about the de/merits of the Oyster bracelet on the Rolex Forum...) |

Obviously, a lot of companies have copied the oyster bracelet over the years, but they at least use their own style clasp. |

Wow. I thought the PRO III was too close to a Rolex bracelet for comfort. This one looks identical. |
