I currently own this. Chronomat with rose gold. 46mm. My son wants it for his college graduation present.

I am offered this, with strap. Seller tells me it is also 46mm.

Anyone know if I can swap the bracelet to the newer model?

Thanks,
Gary

Just for info the top Chronomat is actually 43.7mm, and the Chronomat 01 in the lower picture is 43.5mm... although the case size doesn't actually matter when it comes to bracelet fitting - it's the lug width that counts. And in this case both are 22mm.

However while both these models have 22mm lugs, it's still highly unlikely that the bracelets will be interchangeable. While both bracelets use straight end-links, it all comes down to where the spring bar holes are drilled. As a general rule bracelets are not usually interchangeable, although there are a couple of exceptions to the rule - for example if I remember correctly, the Chronomat Pilot bracelet fits the B1....but it's more luck and coincidence than anything else. Unless you can physically try it before you buy it, then you're best to assume they won't be interchangeable as otherwise you could be making an expensive mistake.

To add to what Driver8 said, the Chronomat Evolution bracelet end link has a very flat edge (almost knife edge at the top) to fit perfectly against the also very flat case space between the lugs.
Take a close look at it and you will know what I mean.
The later Chronomat 01 however has a slightly rounded ( from top to bottom) finished space between the lugs so even if the lug holes are in an OK place the very flat and sharp at the top end link on the Evo bracelet is going to look awfull against the rounded edge of the B01.
I seriously doubt this would work.
Take a close look at the space between the lugs on this B01 here and hopefully you will see what I'm trying to describe.

Thanks for your help guys. Funny, I always thought my Chronomat was 46mm. Its coming up around 42 measuring to the base of the platform for the pushers. I've always struggled with the bezel on my watch, awful pip. Can only find it in the very best of lighting conditions. I frequently use timing bezels the one on my watch is worthless.

1952 - thanks. I tried to build a collection with a sprinkling of high end and unusual watches.
