Hi everybody,

I am new to this site. I am the proud owner of my second Breitling watch, the present one being a Chronomat 81950, which is a fantastic watch. The watch never came with the correct strap so have been seeking a Bullet bracelet for the past couple of months. I have purchased one on the dreaded Ebay but one of the end spring clips has been mutilated by a previous owner and is firmly wedged inside the end link. The other end spring clip is free and works fine. I am soaking the damaged end clip in WD40 for 48 hours to see whether this assists in loosening before I use a clip removal tool and small hammer.
Any other suggestions or warnings you can give would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance,
Bob

A jeweller can probably get a jeweller's saw in between bracelet and lug to cut the spring bar.

Welcome to BreitlingSource.

Thanks for the lightening quick reply. The bracelet is not attached to the watch. The spring clip has broken off inside the end link with no pieces protruding. By soaking the end link in a penetrating solution I am hoping that whatever is holding the clip firm, such as dirt or minor rusting, will be freed, and will allow me to softly hammer the clip out. If it is a burr on the clip, I am sure that will make things much more difficult.

Regards,
Bob

Oh sorry, I misunderstood. I can't imagine that there is anything holding it that can't be released with a bit of force, especially after soaking. If you can't do it yourself then a watchmaker will have a bracelet holder that holds the bracelet vertical and will allow him / her to try and punch the spring bar out from inside the link.
