I finally acquired an Ocean Racer and Deployment for my Skyland but it is a nightmare to attach to the lug. It seems that it's too thick for the depth of the lug on this watch. I had it attached after about a half hour of working on it while my bracelet was in the shop. Once my bracelet was back I put it on again for the work week. My goal was to wear the Ocean Racer while sailing on the weekends and the bracelet at work.
Friday I tried switching back to the OR and finally gave up after about 45 minutes and a few new scratches on the watch that weren't previously there.

I could get the OR to fit easily by shaving it down but the thought of doing that bugs me... So my question is, is the Diver Pro thinner at the lug than an OR. If so I'd be willing to trade the OR with deployment for a good condition DP1. If not I'll shave it down.

Thanks for the help.

Chris

Are you sure that you are using the right approach to attaching it? You should not have one side of the spring bar in the hole and the other end loose, that will never fit. You need to have one end of the spring bar compressed against the lug, then do the same on the other side and then slide both into the spring bar hole.

Do you begin from the underside of the watch or with it facing up?

Thanks,

Chris

Start with the watch face down and insert from beneath. Compress one end of the spring bar and place against the lug fairly close to the edge. Holding that end in place compress the other end and place against the lug. If the strap is close enough to the edge of the lug it will fit fine and you can then maneuvre the spring bars until they engage with the holes.
