Hi,

From what I can remember, my initial reaction to mesh was quite negative. I remember that I used to associate it with these (ugly) old ~70's watches that are far from my own taste. However, while looking for metallic alternatives to leather for the hot summer months... these things have been growing on me
I cannot say that I have heart set on a polished Staib mesh, but considering both its price and the great reviews of its quality, it does seem like a tempting alternative!

Anyway, I would love some inspirational images and feedback! I am still quite undecided on:

1... The finish: is the polished mesh too shiny? Is the matte version too boring when combined with a polished case?

2... My wrist is quite small, just under 7 inches. I guess I would have to go with the 130-150mm version, but I also do not like the idea having all those extra non-mesh links on there! Which probably would be the case if I get the smaller version. On the other hand, a large downsized to 150mm from 170mm, could be to big.

3... Mesh type: 2.7mm, 3.5mm or 4.5mm thick. Real-world images would help a great deal here!

Some links (I hope they are OK to post):

I don't know why Breitling don't make the mesh officially available to more of their models.
I think it looks hot!

I do not know if it was the beer I just had out here in the sun (or these beautiful 01 and Anniversary editions), but that mesh just look gorgeous on the Navi! :P
Well, I just ordered a 150mm long polished Staib mesh, I will post images and a mini-review later on.

I had my datora on a leather strap for 8 or so years and decided to put on a metal strap last summer. I decided to go with the mesh as it looked great on the transocean and it looks just a nice on mine. Post a pic and share the love, I'll load one up once I figure out how to.
