This Leather Care Kit can be purchased direct from Breitling. I just purchased one from Breitling UK for £13.95 including 1st class postage. It is a basic, small, high quality cream to help maintain leather or croc straps in good condition and is supplied with a small cloth to apply the cream. I have seen one for sale on this forum at a reduced $70 and described as a collectors piece..... |

I was just saying the guy should have PM'd him, and told him instead of starting a new thread attacking the guys sales post. |

I mean I try to holler at people when they list things crazy high and lets say they haven't been receptive. While this might not be the right forum its not necessarily the wrong spirit. |

Understandable. Didn't mean to get in the middle, I would have handled it differently that's all in saying. |

First and foremost, I wanted to let fellow members know that this is a very good product (I had been looking for a suitable product I could use on my watch straps) and secondly that it was widely available (in the UK anyway) at a relatively reasonable price. If I had wanted to hijack anyone else's sales thread I would have done so directly. Obviously, anyone can ask whatever price they so wish. With hindsight, I would not have referred to price (which is not really an issue) that another member was asking. I have not intended any offence, just wanted to contribute to the forum..... |

Moderators may disagree and I am not referring to a particular post, but over the years I have seen much abuse in the Swag arena. For instance, that little Breitling pen knife offered for upwards of $100 without revealing how tiny and cheap it is. Or rather common Breitling pens with asking prices over $100; there certainly are exceptions. I saw an item some time ago with a price north of $200, stating it was below value. I happen to have that item and it is sitting on a box in my garage. I would be embarrassed to ask more than $100 for it. Often the seller makes a direct or implied claim the item is rare and very collectible to justify the price. That's where deception comes into play whether by intent or naïveté. Sellers get to ask what they want, but swag buyers ought to be aware most swag is not as rare as suggested. (Except pink boxer shorts, which evidently only I received). In the end, an item is worth what others pay for it - the market place here is an open one, but let the buyers beware! |

The rules of the sales section are clear, sellers are free to ask what they wish, others may not criticise pricing. I moved this thread from the main Breitling section to the Accessory section as it refers to an accessory. I obviously didn't delete it, edit it, or otherwise comment. Read into that what you will, it was my judgment call. I am no more allowed to criticise pricing than any other member, but you will note that I did comment in the sales thread that is being referenced in an attempt to ensure that less aware potential buyers were aware of how much product they would receive. You will also note that the item has not sold. At the end of the day there are any number of products that are 'creatively advertised' - just compare any fast food restaurant's product photos with the reality, and caveat emptor has to apply. |
