Post subject:  Aerospace titanium measurement

Hi everyone,
After confirming that my Aerospace titanium (Model E56061) is in fact original (Thanks guys! :lingsrock: ) I am trying to get the strap sorted out.
I need to get hold of a tang buckle, but am not sure how to measure it. The one that it has currently (not a Breitling buckle) measures 18mm inside and 22mm outside (if that makes sense?)
So would this be an 18mm buckle or a 22mm buckle (I see both sizes are available)
Then a final question, does anyone know where I could get hold of one in South Africa? The agents have not been very helpful, even a secondhand one would be great as the watch itself is quite dated.
Thanks all

18mm as it relates to the size of the strap that you would need to use. The strap (if it's an OEM Breitling strap) will have two numbers on back (20-18 for example). In this example the 20 is the width of the strap in mm at the watch end (i.e. between the lugs) and the 18 is the width in mm at the buckle or clasp end. Therefore you'd need an 18mm buckle to fit it.

In terms of where to get an original buckle from, then your best bet is always an AD, but failing that you'll probably be looking at eBay, although I'd advise caution on there as buckles are very easy to fake. Of course if you find one on eBay that you fancy bidding on, post us some picture of it in the Replica subforum and we'll let you know if it's fake or not.
