I have an aerospace repetition minutes which I bought used about 10 years ago. The clasp spring has lost its springyness, for lack of a better word. The clasp closes fine but because the spring is dead, the watch slides up my arm or spins around my wrist when I move. Is it possible to purchase a new spring? It looks simple enough to dismantle the clasp and replace the spring, if I can only find a new spring. I have searched but cannot find watch band parts. Can it be ordered from Breitling or anywhere else? |

Not quite following what the problem is, there is no spring in bracelet clasps. Can you post pictures of the problem? |

Here is a photo of the offending clasp. The lower portion of the clasp that is hanging out should be snug inside the rest of the clasp until there is pressure on it. I realize my description isn't particularly clear. I will see if I can upload a video somewhere and link to it. |

I found a man at a kiosk in the Watertown Mall (in Watertown, Masssachusetts) who claims he will replace the spring for thirty dollars. I tried to get him to explain how he was going to do it, because I couldn't manage to dismantle the clasp myself. The language barrier prevented him explaining it to me, all I could get from him was: "I can do it, I know how". I didn't have much confidence in letting him play with it, because at first he suggested that he could prevent the sliding portion from moving at all, by "making a hole". I can't believe I am the first person to have to deal with the clasp spring wearing out. Hasn't anyone else needed to replace this spring? |
