I know nothing about watch winders, but now that I have two automatic watches, I'd like to get one. I have a breitling navitimer world and a rolex datejust. Is the product at the link below a good one, is it worth the price, and is it best for both of my watches?

Plastic motor with 2 pads on one motor head is definitely not a good idea. No recommendations, but this might help - viewtopic.php?f=6&t=23867

I would not go with that one. Those cheapie winders usually have very cheap gearing and it breaks down rather quickly. A Wolf Module 2.7 (either Viceroy or Roadster), would be your best bet. They are very quiet and work great.

I'm interested in a locking wooden one, but not at an insane price. Basically I want a quality winder that looks similar to the one I asked about in my original post

Avert your eyes from this one, turn and RUN away as fast as you can! First it isn't wood - it's particle board with heat shrunk plastic on it. Second, this is the same brand that has been re-branded from Garmin to Diplomat etc... I owned several and they are absolute worthless POS. Within days, it may stop working. Many arrive not working straight out of the box. If they do work the plastic parts in the motor grate to the point you can't have it in the same room with you. The cups are held into the spindle by cheap plastic which breaks off. These are sold on amazon and you will find many wonderful reviews - BUT they likely are simple-minded fools who can't tell the difference between plastic and real wood based on reading the reviews. And they likely are written the same day their indiscriminate eyes are awed by the amazing "quality and finish" .... of wood grained plastic wrap. Here is a 2011 review I stumbled upon by some cat who goes by "Sharkman." Who knows if he is reliable, but evidently he recovered from his simple-minded foolishness.

Do yourself a favor and invest in a Wolf winder - these are reasonably priced and WORK. And Wolf often has nice sales. Their single winder stackable modules are a terrific way to go. Caveat Emptor! When it comes to winders there truly are no free lunches or almost free.

Your not going to find a good winder for less than $200 and that's just for a single. You can find winders out there for $60, but they are junk with plastic gears. They will be pretty loud and wind up breaking before the year is over if your lucky. You have two verry nice watches, do your self and your watches a favor and buy a quality winder. A good one will last your for a long time, chances are you will outgrow it before you would need to replace it. Depending the watch you will have in your winder it need a certain amount of turns per day CW or CCW. I think wolf was already mentioned, they are great. Check out orbita as well, their web site has a chart telling you how many rotations your watch will need.

See below. Good reviews and separate settings for each watch. Just like your watch and the comments, you get what you pay for. However, this one looks reasonable for the cost and appears to work. No doubt though Wolf is the Breitling of winders!!

Now on the cheaper end see below. Again good price all plastic. I have this and it is silent and works. Multiple settings for winding and goes either direction or both. I wind my SA when I am wearing my G-Shock. Hopefully I will get a chance to fill the other slot. I am sure I am going to get some slack for buying this.

Heiden was my next step up. I got a 12 watch winder. One by one over the next couple months cups stopped working until 3 months in 6 didn't work. Wolf is not much more expensive but miles above based on my limited experience.

I'm not sure that I would call Wolf the Breitling of winders - it would need to cost more for that, but it is the only brand in that price range or below that I would consider. The rest have to be considered consumables at best.

Over the years I've used cheap-and-nasty, I've used expensive(ish)-and-still-nasty, and I've used expensive(ish)-and-called-Orbita. Of those, Orbita are the only ones that stand the test of time.

To be fair though - and I think I've probably just been lucky - but even my cheap-and-nasty ones have kept going (if a little noisily) for some considerable time. The biggest disappointment was a Rapport winder I owned - certainly not stupidly cheap enough to be considered a consumable, but still noisy and then stopping completely after a very short space of time.

Oribita Sparta Deluxe are my winders of choice as they aren't ridiculously expensive (although you probably won't find even a single winder below $400), but they are quiet and they last.

I have no experience of Wolf, but reviews are almost always positive.

For what it's worth, I've had an ebay'er for 2 years now.
The thing cost me $140 & it's still working silently & perfectly as designed. Now, I might have just gotten lucky, but I'd much rather put my money into a new piece than an unnecessary winder. After all, 40 turns of the crown & 5 mins to set the time won't kill me...........
But at under $200, I'm all for the convenience of not worrying about needing to set the time
