Post subject:  Spring bar issue, watch fell off

Was out in the yard last week throwing around a football and all of the sudden my colt hits the ground. Looks Loire the spring bar slipped out of the holes. I'm thinking its when I bent my wrist to catch the ball. I don't wear my watch too lose or too tight. Has this happened to anyone else? This is the second time in a year it's happened to me when my wrist is flexed.

Annoying when a $ 3000 watch falls a part like a piece of junk.

Anyone have any advice on what to do to ensure it doesn't happen again.

Use the right sized springbar!

If the springbar is not broken and it falls out then it's the wrong size. Take it to the AD and if it's the one that they supplied then complain loudly!

Yeah. That's what I'm figuring. I had it sized last year. Before that it was fine. Is there any reason the AD would change pins?

Strap vs. bracelet needs different springbars and they might replace if they believe that it's damaged (bent, spring gone, etc).

I have the correct bar. I have the bracelet and the pin is chamfered on both sides.
The spring bar seems to be correct. Not sure what the problem is. Any way to tell if the ones I have are OEM.

No way that I am aware of. If it's the correct bar and it's falling out then it must be damaged.

Both bars came out!! Whats the chances? Guess ill take it to the AD tomorrow. Thanks for the help.
Also when it fell off it got a knick in it. Kinda deep. Do AD's usuall polish or buff scratches out?

Sounds a lot like the wrong springbars to me!

If the ding isn't too bad then it can be buffed out, get advice when you take it in.

Hopefully it hit the grass and not cement

Wow, took my watch to Razny's in Addison, Illinois. They are an AD. Best customer service ever. They fixed the spring bar and polished my watch free of charge. Weird thing is that when they used a breitling spring bar the bracelet kept coming loose. Then he put in two generic ones and the bracelet stayed on strong. They couldn't figure it out, and I'm fine with it.

Highly recommend Razny's. Excellent place.

You must be right near me, I am in Itasca. Razny's is a nice store, pricey but nice.
