When cutting an OR strap to fit your wrist do you cut the little peices off evenly from each side as needed or make one side longer than the other? If the answer is one side longer, which and why? The reason I ask is bcause the used Breitling I bought came on an OR strap and was not cut evenly with two sections left on one side and four left on the other. All 3 of my rubber straps have been added after I bought a new Breitling on a bracelet. The two sides come in even lenghts so it just made sense to me to cut them evenly. Mine all seem to sit on my wrist properly. Since the 2nd hand watch only came with an OR strap and the seller told me it was his only Breitling I am making the assumption (perhaps wrong) that it was fitted at the AD and came that way and that got me to thinking if I was "wrong" in cutting mine evenly. Both my leather deployment and bracelets have one side longer than the other so why not the rubber? |

As a general rule even on both sides and if you need to cut an odd number of pieces then the extra one comes off the bottom. But....... The real key is to make sure that the OR clasp is comfortable on your wrist and for some people that will mean having one side (generally the top) longer than the other. |

I agree with Roff. I have an Omega rubber strap that I sometimes use on my Ploprof, and that required cutting in the same way as Breitling's OR, and for me it was more about getting the clasp to sit in the right place rather than keeping the sides "even". Everyone's "wrist geometry" is different and for some people the clasp needs to be biased towards one side more than the other. As it turns out, for me it was only 1 piece different between the two sides anyway. I just went very, very slowly, taking one piece off at a time and test fitted it on my wrist each time. |

It all depends on the shape of your wrists i broke both mine along with my arms and one leg {motor bike accident 35 yrs ago] my or strap is 2 holes shorter on the 12 side the clasp then sits central and is the most comfortable strap on my sa. |

As a general rule start cutting them one at a time beginning on the 6:00 side, then 12, then 6 etc... Also as a general rule, if you are ending up with an odd number of "links" left, you should have the extra one on the 12:00 side. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

On my Diver Pro II I have one more "link" on the 12:00 side. And the clasp sits on the right place, the watch is perfectly balanced. |
