Well i just ordered 24/24 kainheritage strap, need fat boy spring bars. http://www.panatime.com/24fatboy2spb.html Anyone know if the above spring bars will fit breitling holes ? I heard it is universal type.. so should be able to fit... just to double check here. |

Its been my experience generally, that spring bar holes universally, are 1.00mm diameter approximately, regardless of the OD of the spring bars used. There’s always an exception to that rule of course, but from someone who dabbles in watch design I would think you will be OK. The OD of the spring bar is important to the watch strap thickness and size, as you will no doubt experience with the Kain straps overall appearance. The only issue I find is that if the strap gets too thick and generally stiff, it may not install in the lug depth against the case without forcing it. Especially if the lug have to be supersized. Not good for the spring bars in that case and comes down to a compromise on strap and SB size. Assuming that you have checked this before buying, then it should be OK if you think the clearnaces will be a good fit. Jim |

Chronofighter. Nice watch. Its all about rolling radii. The strap needs room to roll over the springbar and clear the watch case. The strap you have purchased probably has a 5mm thickness, which needs to wrap around the springbar. If you are using a 1.5mm diameter fat boy, then you need to account for this in the calculation. Therefore, measured from the lug hole centre with a foot steel rule (if you have one); half 1.5mm is 0.75mm + the rough leather strap thickness of say 5mm = 5.75mm. Add to this clearance of some 0.5mm from the watch case (the most critical part) then you need 6.25mm for free clearance and movement of the strap. 5.75mm would be the minimum distance but will bind on the case/strap interface and be hard to adjust. If you measure the centre of the lug hole to the case face, this should give you a go/no go result. Check the strap when it arrives, as it maybe a little less than 5mm and the Graham Chrono may have a large clearance, given that they expect heavy leather straps to be fitted to this watch style. The thicker the strap, the thicker the springbar, especially with leather straps. It is possible to fit to a thinner springbar to save clearance space, but not advisable, as the strap has a natural radii on its bend and to a larger degree, it will ignore the springbar diameter. Sorry for the metric measurements, but I am more used to these than imperial measurements these days. Post a pic once its fitted as it should be an inetresting combination. Jim |

Ok, that means 1.25mm from the lug hole centre to the strap inner face. Jim |
