The only purpose for this is to give my watch a good wind before I put it on the next day, it won't be used to constantly wind one particular watch. Does anyone have experience with this brand of winder? ![]() Wolf Designs 4561-02 Module 2.7 Single Watch Winder with Cover and Storage The Wolf Designs Module 2.7 Single Watch Winder with Cover and Storage should accompany the collection of any self-proclaimed watch connoisseur. It rotates incrementally from 300 to 1,200 turns per day and displays a countdown reminder on the screen. It has the ability to turn clockwise, counter-clockwise or bi-directionally and can be powered via D-cell batteries or a 33-volt adaptor. If you do a search you will find quite a few threads on Wolf winders. You should also note that a winder will not wind your watch, it merely maintains the reserve that the watch already has. |

Does the turning action of the winder not make the rotor rotate? |

So if I have it on the winder from the time I get home from work until the following day, what can one expect for a reserve if it was set at the maximum number of rotations. That would be approximately 14 hours on the winder. |

If you have it set to the proper # of TPD, it will maintain the full reserve it probably has on your wrist. But you need to set the winder to start running at the proper time. It does not run all day - it will run about 100 turns, rest a bit and then run some more. I have never payed close attention but I believe mine, set to 650TPD run over a 6 hour period or so. You want to start it in its original start up to start about the time of day you would be placing it on the winder. A little after actually. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I'm pretty sure that all newer wolf winders have "lock in cuffs." Mine doesn't as it's one of the earlier models. I would make sure that the one you are considering does lock the watch into the winder. Before wolf sent me a larger cuff I had a couple watches jump off the dresser. |

Thanks, yes it does have the lock in cuff. I checked out the reviews on line which were less than helpful other than to give specs. |

Got a double winder comin soon, the only reason I'm getting one is to keep the watches wound since I don't wear daily or often enough. Kind of confused why u would need a winder for daily wear? Just about every watch has at least a 40hr reserve.... |

I change my my watches daily so the plan is to come home from work and put my next days watch on the winder over night to give it some juice so I don't have to wind it. I'd rather that the rotor wind the watch up. |

I'd rather that the rotor wind the watch up. As I said, that's not going to happen - winders don't wind watches! If you have two watches on the go then putting the one that you take off on the winder will maintain the reserve, but you can't put a watch that is totally run down on a winder and expect it to become wound. Over time if you set the rotations higher than necessary that can happen - but it will take an extended period of time and isn't going to be the best thing for the watch as more rotations = less rest. |

Then I may have bought a winder for nothing. Well, maybe not, I can hand crank it and then throw it on the winder to hold the reserve. |

in theory your plan could work if you only have 2 watches and you always wear one. so if you have one on the winder with a fresh wind, and switch them i think u would be able to keep them from dying.... |
