I am looking to purchase a winder in the near future.... can't decide between Orbita's Rotowind or Wolf's standard winding models.

I understand that the rotowind uses less energy and what not, but what do you think between one or the other.

If the "rotowind" isn't all that important or needed, then I prefer to save some money and go with something from Wolf.

Thanks!

Rotorwind is a more natural action in that it causes oscillation rather than simple rotation, and it will save on running costs, but from a practical sense there isn't any difference between the technologies.

A decision between Orbita and Wolf should be based on cost and quality rather than nature of the winding.

I have an Orbita rotowind. It's great. Silent and the 5 year battery life allows me to put it anywhere I want.
I had another winder once and it was noisy.
The Orbita wood case is a true piece of furniture too.
Made in North Carolina....The motors use same technology used on the MOONBUGGY motors.

I personally swear by Orbita. I've used a number of different winders over the years (some cheap ; some not so cheap) and in my experience I find that cost is rarely proportional to quality.

Nowadays I exclusively use Orbita Sparta Deluxe winders for a number of reasons - the build quailty is excellent, I like the more "natural" winding action they provide, they're super quiet, the battery operation means no unsightly wires, the intermittent operation will likely mean a longer lifespan of the motors, and the 5 year battery life is ideal.

What's not to like about that?
