Sometimes I wish the clasps on both of my Breitling(s) were matte. Got my watch on November 28th and the clasp is already showing signs of wear.

Bring it in to your local dealer and ask them to brush it. This won't eliminate the clasp accumulating scratches but it will definitely keep them from being as obvious.

I think someone here suggested putting tape over the surface to protect it. Search & you will probably find it. I dislike deployment type buckles for this very reason. I also find them difficult to size on my wrist. Why not buy a good quality second strap & use that for every day use, leaving the deployment for special occasions? Just a thought.

That's an interesting thought. What's probably going to happen is I'll just get used to it like I did with my other one. I hate leather straps so that's not an option. The only time I really see the scratches is when I'm staring at the watch looking for them. That will probably stop in a few weeks. It's just because it's new.

Just keep a Cape cod handy. Polish it up whenever the scratches bother you?
