Wonder if anyone can help. Got a new colt 44 chronometer and it seems to Keep stopping in the night despite me winding it as instructed 40 times and wearing all day. Last night it stopped at 11.50pm, when I woke this morning it started to work again I’m assuming through my wrist movement and has worked fine ever since (last 3 hours). This is happens a few times any advice would be appreciated

That's not right. There should be enough power reserve to at least make it last for 40 hrs. I suggest you bring it back for warranty work.

Agreed. From the sound of it, the mainspring could be broken. From a stopped position, wind slowly and you might be able to hear an abnormal click sound or a slipping sound. Since the mainspring is designed to slip, you could wind 100 times and it'll still stop after a few hours. I'm sure by now you got it taken care of, but a service and barrel replacement will take care of it.
