Are movement parts easy to come by? Specifically a Flying B, I know this is an ETA 2892-A2 but how interchangble are those parts with the 28B?

Depends on the part.

Some are standard parts, some are replaced as a matter of course, some are replaced if they fail to meet Breitling's stricter tolerances. Generic ETA parts can be had, genuine Breitling are much harder and any piece with generic parts would need to be declared as such - value goes way down and potential future service costs go way up (or Breitling refuses to touch it).

Yeah I thought that might be the case, having looked for genuine Breitling parts I guess they as rare as hens teeth unless your certified by Breitling?

Yep, restricted to authorised service centres and AD watchmakers (and they only get access to some), so not many get out.

My watchmaker is licensed to work on Breitling and I have access to all the parts except for B4B... In 99 percent of the cases, we need to send the watch to Breitling Belgium.

Your watchmaker can get in house parts as well Wim?

No, sorry, forgot to mention that... But he is invited to go to Switserland to take the training course for the in house movements and from then on we will have access. Don't know when that will be though.

Hmm, the elderly gent in Taipei Service Center was inhouse certified already 3 years ago when I was visiting them.
Not sure how many more years they will get out of him.
Of course it could be a case of not being allowed to retire until you die or are declered legally blind ;-)

Well, no dealer in Belgium is certified for in house as far as I know. I think Breitling Belgium still wants to do it themselves as its they who need to send the watchmaker of to Switserland to follow the training.
