I have a cheap non-named watch. It's an automatic and although the rotor turns freely it doesn't seem to be winding the watch. It has stopped. When I wind it manually I can see cogs turning, but the watch still won't start ticking.
It is a good chance for me to play about with a watch that I can't damage and it won't cost anything.
I've nearly got the movement out. The only thing holding it in is the winder crown. I don't want to just tug it :-) Are there a few different ways to get it off?
Any advice would be good. Thanks.

Nevermind, it's out :-)
It has a little button to press near to where its spindle goes in to the mechanism. Push that and pull the winder out :-)
Still no action though, even when the winder turns the cogs.
Still trying :-)
