Geez, I take a break from the site for a while and come back to this discussion! Hmmmm.

D8, What time line were you thinking about for a finished product? I may be interested if it's after the first of the year. Watch funds are non-existant right now.

It will certainly be after the first if the year, Scott. I'd guess well after.

Come on! Let's get some more members to rally around this project.

I hope it works out too. I know we've experienced times in the past when people have dropped out due to design issues, and I'm sure that'll be the case here, but if there is a strong secondary market, BSource board numbers may not deter completion of the project. I'm not going to be super picky on design if that helps but certainly have preferences

Apologies again for the delay guys - I should be back to my normal forum attendance next week! I've fired off a mail to Crepas to ask a few of the questions from my last post - i.e. what happens to any watches that we don't sell on here.... which as it stands looks like about 90% of the total run! , etc. I'll see what they come back with, and feedback it back to you guys.

Yes Scott, as Sharky said this will DEFINITELY be next year, and possibly a way into it.

Here's a few examples of vintage dive watches to give you some ideas of styling cues. I wouldn't expect the final watch to look exactly like any of these : the pictures are more to give a flavour of retro divers. There's a mixture of both chronographs and non-chronos here. Personally I think it'd be nice to take a few styling cues from Wakmann's vintage divers given the association of Breitling and Wakmann over the years.

And here is a modern interpretation of a vintage dive watch by Aquadive to give an idea of what retro styling can turn out like  -

Thanks for the info Mr Diver.

If the final version looked like the Aquadiver with Broadarrow hour hand, orange anodised minute hand, orange anodised crown, sapphire bezel and a mesh bracelet it would be perfect for me.

Finally, the more the WR the better.

OK, so I am slowly "catching up" after my absence and have a few thoughts about this project.

I bought one of the first BreitlingSource LE's (and still own it!), but didn't care for LE #2, so I didn't buy one of those. But with that, I would be lying if I didn't say my interest is ....well......lets just say, you have my attension!

On the design aspect. I think that the retro look is OK, but not my first choice. I would like to see design elements that would really make this a special LE, not just a take off from Omega, Rolex or (fill in your favorite). By this I don't mean a zebra striped dial and a neon red strap, but something that stands out and would make the fan boys foam at the mouth. First thought was a blue bezel under a saphire ring (if that is possible), with a black textured dial. A little touch of "hey look at me" but plenty of "business casual". And if were talking about a real DIVER, no cluttered dials or bezels. Lets make it functional.

So depending on design and of course cost...I am tenatively IN.

yes, thought too this would be nice, though it would involve modifying a movement, afraid this might be a bit much.
