Hi sharkman,

sorry i'm in Germany, isn't that ironic? :/

Yeah, quite. Don't worry I'm leaving a note for fedex Monday indicating the shipper has advised contents incorrect, delivery is refused, and to return to Steinhart.

Personally I think this stuff is getting hysterical. Really     stuff. Ultimately we all get our lovely LE watches one day or the next.

its the cheapest way to sent back only the engraved bottom and get the right one

or sapphire bottom version too

Are you suggesting that people disassemble their watches? If so i do not think that is wise, and I am sure would void the warranty.

No please do not disassemble your watches or send partial ones back, for the four concerned please send back the watches unopened and unworn. Thank you.

As far as importing costs, if you refuse to accept the shipment then neither you nor FedEx are obligated to pay anything as customs, and you will not be billed for a processing fee. Steinhart should get that bill, I refused a shipment once on similar grounds and was never billed, it only stand to reason that the same happens to you.

I meant if the watch has the wrong number and you didn't know until you opened it. But it sounds like everyone with a potentially wrong number has been notified in advance(?).

(I am assuming mine is probably OK since I never switched my number)

Too funny

What an absolute shambles. All credit to you Altair for keeping it together!

My watch arrives tomorrow which is exciting. They got the address wrong which doesn't surprise me at all. I've only sent them my new address like 8 times, including prior to when the strap from the 1st LE came out. Of course I haven't heard a reply to my email. But whatever, a simple phone call to fedex and all is sorted.

Anyway clearly a few stressed individuals. No doubt things will work out in the end. I have no doubt that the watch will be worth it.

Tim, how did you find out the address they shipped it to? My email from them did not have an address, and the Fedex website does not supply one. (It does supply the city and state, which are correct at least). Just curious.

My original address included suburb and State. With all the address troubles I've had with Steinhart, once I saw the destination on the fedex website, I immediately knew they had got it wrong again. A quick call to fedex with my tracking number was all it took to confirm that the address was incorrect. A simple request to hold the item at the local fedex station and all problem solved. It will be my 3rd trip to that fedex station to collect steinhart merchandise

I was a little worried there. I only saw the "drop-off" update on FedEx tracking site for a couple days, then posted as somewhere in Germany for a couple days, then this morning:
Aug 1, 2010 11:34 AM Int'l shipment release MEMPHIS, TN

It made it across the pond! :cheer:

The one headed my way is released and in Memphis too. Problem is it's going back to Steinhart to be sent to the correct recipient who lives in.....GERMANY! Haha. Should be a while until a shiny new watch arrives for me in Phoenix.
