Well we are done with the initial polling process, fun wasn't it?

So some of you had different requests during the polling sessions and it seemed like too much trouble to go all the way back and start things over at that time. So I completed our first design, henceforth known as Typhoon LE Mark 1

Seriously, if you think you like the new dial option enough for us to go back to the dial design phase, which requires a re polling of consequent choices to achieve a more attractive overall outcome, please vote accordingly.

Personally, I think our current design rocks and is a great compromise between all tastes. It si also very unique, attractive, and yet conservative enough. We also know for a fact that Steinheart have worked with these options before so they can get the project done faster.

On the other hand, we want to do this right and whats another three days in the grand scheme of things? We want to produce a watch that you look down to tell the time and take an extra long glance with a big grin on your mug. If a redesign makes that happen, small price! And we can think of this as a training session.

Also please note that there is also the chance of a second, less expensive LE, maybe an ivory Pilot with a display back? will see about interest once we get our initial batch in.

THE CONTENDERS:

The silver dial on this GT has been requested as an option, if you preffer it over the grey, vote junk.

This ivory dial is also another option.

Lug width: 22mm
WaterRes: 50m/ 5 ATM

I voted keep our design.

I really like the watch we have created. Looking down at it on my wrist will certainly give me a lot of pleasure, particularly as we have all been a part of the design! Well done to everyone.

Once again an outstanding effort from you Altair! Super idea and the design process was a lot of fun. I'm very glad to be a part.

Looking forward to seeing the consensus.

I voted "KEEP", but with this caviot: I would really prefer going with a DB on the Pilot so we can (possibly) get the bridge engraved with our initials or screen names, on an already decorated manual movement. But... I would not be extremely disappointed with the current front runner either.

Can we get a mock up pic? I think I would feel better about it if I saw that. Honestly I am not ecstatic about some of the selections, but I think it will be very nice. Still really like the DB option if that has not been ruled out. As it stands I do not think a concensus will get anything better. I will vote keep.

Generally speaking I think it's an OK design, but I must be honest there are a couple of design points I'm not over the moon about.

As a result of that I'd prefer to spend less on it if I was given the choice. Hence if the design ideas were transfered to the cheaper Pilot (half the price in fact), I'd probably be happier.

Having said that, if I can see a mock-up of this current design on the Chrono then that'll be the decider for me.

I'm not going to vote for now.

Basically I like it, but don't love it.

Just to add my two cents - I've been following the process closely and LOVE the idea, however based on the prices on the Steinhart website the chrono version will cost more than I'm able to spend at the moment, however the cheaper pilot version I could almost definitely swing.

Most want us to keep the current design, but just to make sure we have all factors considered I have created a redesign poll with only two choices.

Please lock this thread.
