Post subject:  My first ling!

The time has come, I got my first Breitling after so many years of drooling at them in the storefronts and online. :lingsrock:

First impressions. I was fully expecting the outer box to be covered in the little airplanes/flag configuration. Instead I have a stout riveted box, that is a tad nicer than the cardboard I was reading about but sadning non the less. Though it really maters not, I sorta wished after dropping such a significant amount of money that the next box would have been the Bakelite? Though It would just sit on the shelf I just thought that 5 figures later it would have more... more... hard to explain. Now the leather carrier inside is quite nice  , though I always consider my travel carrier my wrist but what do I know, I only have one watch worth even talking about anymore. :lingsrock:

As for the manuals, I must say that I am impressed with the punch card look of the documents stating the AD, SERNO and what not :o . It tells me that time was taken for this specific watch and is not just a card added to a book. I am sure the process is simple but the idea is awsome. I also love the fact that the COSC card is also documented simularly and the fact that they send EVERY watch in to a independent lab for certification ensures that its truly a instrument of professionals.

Mine is a limited edition XXX/250 :nana: , and I thought that all limited editions were engraved deeply on the 9 side but mine is not  , its etched on the caseback right above the serno. That brings me to the serno, I have seen some pics where it looks like corosion has wiped out the number but upon close examination it looks like its merely acid etched or very lightly laser etched which could explain my previous thoughts.

As for wear, I must admit I cant take my eyes off the darn thing. :lingsrock: The crystal in this is so much more transparent than my previous saphire lense its almost invisible. :cheer: The mother of pearl does nothing short of captivate me as each time I look at it, it seems like its a different watch as the colors change with the smallest angle adjustment. :wowzers I had thought I needed to remove a link since its a Chronomat 44 and had tried but failed. My screw shticks are a bit worn and slipped just a little so I gave up. Instead I moved the hasp in 1 short of all the way and it fit fine for the first night but the next couple days turns to be a smidge loose maybe.

Other than that all functions and features appear to be operating normally  . I have not checked and probably wont check to see exaclty how many minutes it may be gaining a day or week. I figure when I change the date, I will check and if it seem way off then I might start examining further.

Pictures will follow soon, probably about a week. I have noticed its a PITA to get good quality pics of these watches! :lingsrock: :lingsrock: :lingsrock:

Your nails are nicely manicured, but your wrist needs a shave! ;) Beautiful watch.

I just purchased my first breitling, I could not be happier with it. Mine came in the new packaging as well. Everything from the watch to the packaging was produced with such detail. I am a breitling fan for life. Don't know why I waited soo long.

Fully polished navitimer world, silver dial. Where do I find the full ling member logo and all the other cool breitling logos you guys all seem to use. Thanks, ill try and post some pics soon.

While reading your review and thinking what limited edition and then I saw the pictures! I am expecting delivery of the same model tomorrow. I fretted about a week and couldn't get the color off my mind. I made the mistake of trying one on and taking pictures of it. The face color constantly changes and like you, I'm sure I will have trouble taking my eyes off of it!
