There will be two new limited edition in rosegold: Limited to 2000 pcs, saphirecrystal back, B01 Movement

First: a Chronomat B01

Second: a Navitimer B01 in about 43mm (old one was 41,8)

I am not sure, when the watches will be available, but probably it will be before christmas.

No information about pricing or dials so far. Sorry, no pictures (I haven't seen any).

Wow, that's a large LE run for rose gold - hopefully they will be priced 'sensibly'.

Let's be honest, they won't be. Well not for us mere mortals anyway. Breitling don't exactly have a good track record for making "affordable" precious metal pieces...... and that's without the added cost of the B01. I think it's going to be in the "Altair only" price bracket.

I'm also going to seriously irritated if that Navi doesn't also come as a steel model as well.

BUT if it DOES come as a steel version, then at 43mm with a DB it has every chance of being my kind of Breitling heaven! I can't wait to see it!

Ordinarily I would agree with you, but I'm not sure that there is going to be sufficient interest for a gold Navitimer / Chronomat in the $20,000 plus range to sell 2,000 of each of them. The 'normal' 500 piece gold LEs are usually available new from ADs for several years after release and while a DB and an inhose movement will increase appeal, I'm not sure that they will be enough to shift that many.

I guess we shall see! :D

I have to say though, I'm not sure I'd go for a gold Navi even if I had the cash for one. I met a guy at one of my AD's Breitling events who had a gold Navi on and he said it was by far and away the least practical watch he'd ever owned. Not only did it have the limited WR rating, but also with the added irritation of being made of a very soft and scratch-happy metal. To me, gold is best reserved for serious dress watches, not something like a Navi.

This 43mm B01 Navi simply HAS to be released in steel as well or else.... or else....... or else I'll stamp my feet really hard!

Agree completely.

Expect the presentation of the steelversion for Basle. But of course with a steel back.

Oh, Yes, I agree, the 2000 pcs are too many for my personal taste, but who am I to criticise Breitling  .

Well a steel version will be VERY welcome, but if it doesn't have the DB it won't be as perfect as it could've been. Close, but not quite! That said, a 43mm B01 steel Navi* would immediately go to the top of my list even without the DB!

* Assuming that it doesn't have one of the horrible new "dart board" effect Navi dials of course!

Would they do this since if they came out with a steel version with a display back, sales of the current Chronomat B01s would basically drop off the charts? I'm sure the inventory levels of the current B01s are rather high since I don't think sales have done very well.

Better start planning the budget for an expensive 2011!

I haven't been as active here recently so if this is old news, sorry!

An AD told me this week that the steel B-01 movement Navi will have a DB and will be about £6500 in the UK.

Does that make sense?

Nick

The price would make sense given the usual price mark-up of the Navi over the Chronomat, and the concept of a steel, B01 equiped Navi was confirmed a little while back by a couple of sources.... BUT I'd not heard of a price being quoted by an AD yet! This is good news IMO, as it may (and I stress may) indicate a slightly quicker release? (Fingers crossed)

That makes much more sense. I'll take a Navitimer in SS please
