i'm pretty sure this was mentioned earlier. but i swung by the a/d today, and he told me prices were being raised approximately 5% across the board from mid-december. i'm wondering if that is excuse enough to buy a legende for x-mas . . . doubt the wife sees it that way though haha.

haha yeah when you catch yourself starting to "reason" that way you know you should be in Lingaholics anonymous.

That said the Legende in Havana dial is sweet 8)

haha i thought about that. someone before likened this place to alcoholics anonymous. i've realized that is so so UNTRUE. no, this is like a room full of enablers. everyone is cheering when someone gets that next great watch. i love it because i'm around people who understand what i'm feeling, and the happiness that a watch, something so simple but so complex, can bring. if i talk to my other friends about this, they just think i'm crazy. thats what makes this place and all the people here so great, just the simple enjoyment everyone gets from chatting with fellow ling lovers, but it creates so much temptation. like you Altair! putting that gorgeous datora up for sale. first thing i thought was hmm . . . i wonder if i could swing a deal where he would be willing to ship to korea. than its like no, no more watches this year. except for maybe the havana/brown/bronze whatever they call it legende because that is a beaut.

Sounds fair, I mean that if I would get the legende with the havana dial, I could live with the fact that I wouldn't buy any more watches this year. December will be tough, but then January is quite close... :)

If your choice is between the Legende and the Datora then get the Legende. Don't get me wrong the Datora is a realy gorgeous watch but it just does not compare to the Legende, particularly in a Havana dial.

Great, now I am all riled up to get a Legende :?

So your from Korea? Looks like we have most of the globe covered here 8)

well, i'm originally from sunny southern california, but i've relocated to south korea for now (korean american). plan on being here a while. i wasn't thinking of taking the datora over the legende, but seeing it listed did give me a couple moments pause. haha. the havana legende is a thing of beauty. i planned on not getting anything for a while after i picked up the motors t, but wow the temptation . . . if i succumb i'll let you guys know, but i'm hoping reason wins out and i don't piss off my wife.

Reason is overrated in my opinion.

reason may be overrated, but a wife's anger should never be underestimated . . . i don't know if you're married, but if you aren't, a wife's anger is truly a thing to behold and fear

Four months on the forum, four watches. You figer out if I am maried

Thats a great quote you have there. Reminds me of this funny dialogue between a rich guy and his beutifull wife:

Wife: Why are all rich men jerks :?:

Husband: The same reason all beutifull women are bitches :!:

Man I can totally relate to everything on here.. its that whole "man I can't buy another watch for a year!" then you see someting you gotta have.. then BAM.. next thing you know you are walking out with a new watch. I've decided i'm done for this year of watch buying... but i've been buying lots of other stuff :(

My AD has told me 2-3 times this year how the prices are increasing. And when I recently bought my Evo, I shopped around and different places told me "Breitling only allows a 15% discount" other places said 10%. I ended up getting something like 21.5% off the list price at the time. But I guess my point is, I have a hard time believing what I hear about price changes and how Breitling is tightening it's discount allowances until I see hard evidence. It seems like a push at us to buy something, thinking we're on a deadline. Any thoughts?

I stopped by my AD today and he told me they lowered the discount from 15% to 10% now on the more popular Breitlings. For example, the list price on the Chronomat is $5100, in April (when the price increase took place after Basel) it cost $4080, then in August it upped to $4335, now it's selling for $4590. That's quite a jump in 7 months.

So my conclusion is it's official, the prices have gone up, again :(

My theory is that most of the increase you guys are seeing is due to the weak dollar (compared to euro/swiss francs). There have been no increases at all where I live, in northern Europe. I would be a bit strange if Breitling officially announced increases, but then only took it out on the US market. Or am I completely off this time?
