Hi all,

I'm looking for some help with my Deployant buckle for my Chronomat Evolution.

I got it from my AD this week and had it installed, unfortunately, I already have put my metal strap back on. This thing is extremely uncomfortable, as there is a little metal piece on the back which is supposed to hold in the leather strap, but it is just putting pressure on my wrist. It seems as if all of the weight of the watch is concentrated on this little metal strip, which sits on my wrist veins. Does anyone know what steps I should look at to fix this problem?

Please see attached photos of my bracelet, the arrow is pointing at the metal.

How tight (I realize this is relative) do you like to wear the strap? Does your watch normally rotate any in either direction? Also, are you wearing it above (close to your hand) or below your wrist bone? I wonder if that's a factor. I assume you've tried loosening it up, unless that means wearing it in a way you're not used to. Also could it be that the leather is just stiff and that there's very little give?

Affixing a little piece of foam rubber or something on that metal strip may alleviate some of the pressure, but also could look sort of odd -- though you'd probably never see it.

Sorry I got no real fix, I'm just sort of talking it through to see what options you might have. It's no fun having a new toy you can't even play with.

I have tried many different tightness and positioning up my wrist and down it. Nothing seems to help. I prefer to be able to move the watch slightly, but I have tried all of the extremes and all the way down the middle too. I don't know if its an effect of the leather being tight and crisp, but it sure is worthless at this point. I have to go back to my AD and see if there is any adjustment. Perhaps the fixed side of the strap is too long/short. Do Breitling make different sized fixed pieces for the deployant?

Maybe they can flatten out the inside of the deployant (curved part) which will let it move to a different position. I am very frustrated with this thing

Is it simply that the strap is still new and stiff?

It does take a while for the strap to soften up and that makes the whole thing more comfortable.

Tough to relate further because I don't have your problem.

:yeahthat Breitling straps can take a while to break in as they are so thick, but once they do they are very comfortable IMO. Like a new pair of shoes that initially give you blisters I'd suggest persevering for a few weeks, although I've never found a problem with Breitling deployants myself.
