I bought a new Navitimer Chronometre from Bailey Banks & Biddle about 6 months ago... It's pretty much the same model as the one on the link below, but with the silver face.

On the day of purchase, the saleperson took the watch out of the brand new box, adjusted the metal band and set the correct time before he handed it me....and I have been wearing the watch everyday ever since. I love everything about the watch and have been getting a lot of compliments......except from time to time, I noticed the minute hand showing 4-5 minutes faster than it should be. I then would have to manually change the minute hand back to where it's supposed to be. So far, it has happened 3 times already.

Now, I'm farily new to owning a self-winding watch....and I was wondering if this is just a part of having a self-winding watch or if there's anything that I need to be aware of. I love this watch and I plan to wear it for a long long time.....and I just wanted to make sure it lasts as long.

Just so you know, BBB is an authorized Breitling retailer here in Schaumburg, IL and the watch itself is genuine and brand new.

Thanks.

Hi, firstly I've moved your post into the Help forum as it's more in keeping with that section.

Secondly, in terms of your watch, you don't say over what period it gains the time, and that will have a bearing on what the problem may be.

For example if it gains 5 minutes over the course of a month, that's 10 seconds a day. While 10 seconds a day is outside of COSC specifications, it would be easily fixed by asking your AD to regulate it for you. However, if it was gaining 5 minutes in 24 or 48 hours it would indicate a different problem - probably a magnetised movement. Again this is an easy fix, but either way it's a trip to your AD.

Thanks.

I guess I will have to pay closer attention and keep track of when it happens over what period of time before I take it back to BBB. LOVE the watch though... :lingsrock:

To be honest, you could quite easily take it back now. You AD should have a little machine (I forget it's name) that should very quickly tell him how fast your watch is running. They can then take the appropriate action - either regulation or de-magnetisation.

Good luck!

Oh and welcome aboard BTW!
