i am trying to buy my husband a breitling for his birthday but cant afford a new one. i have been looking on ebay and found some nice watches that i 'watching'. the problem is that i dont know how to tell if they are fakes or not. i have only picked watches that have pictures of their paper work, box and warranty but is that enough? below are the watches i am thinking of buying: could someone maybe let me know if they look like fakes or not please?

Welcome to the forum, from initial glance they all look OK to me, one thing to bear in mind of course is that if you are in the UK and buy from the US you will need to allow an additional 20% of the value for import duties etc.

First, welcome.
They all look ok, but be aware that first Colt is 38 mm and quartz.
Other three are Autos and their sizes are, in order of appearance: 39, 44 and 40,50 mm.
Happy bidding. :D

Agreed. All look fine to me.

I bought both my Breitlings on eBay.

The golden rule is "Buy the seller, then buy the watch".

Good to see all 4 have a 100% record.

Your husband is a lucky guy.

My wife bought me my watch for my birthday last year. :D

Good luck.

I guess if he is a big guy you don't want a Colt or anything like it since it is quite small. Personally I would not go smaller than 43 mm. I think you had a Steelfish listed which is 44 mm.

I have 8 inch wrist and I wear watches approaching 50mm, and watches of around 35mm. No one's ever told me that a watch looked silly on me. Get him the one that you think he will like most regardless of size. If you haven't figured it out by now, Breitlings are an addiction so he can always get a different size next time :D

And of course, like my wife, you can always 'borrow' a smaller one

Watch size is a very personal thing unfortunately. I know some people with relatively small wrists who love big watches that actually stick out past their wrists! Whereas others with whopping wrists think that anything above a 41mm diameter is a clown's watch.

If I was you I'd somehow get your husband to try on a couple next time you are in town, or maybe even if you stop and look a jewellers window you could possibly sound him out as to what he likes.

can anyone give me a bit more advice about buying this watch? its starting bid is £650 and bidding runs out in just under two days. you can buy it now for £700. i am happy to buy it now for £700 but i cant work out why the price is still at the starting bid after being on for almost a week. is it not real? other people in the forum have said that it looks like it is. he doesnt seem to have sold anything else so i dont want to go ahead until i feel more certain.

help!
